Year after year, the people of Arklow shown up for Darkness Into Light. Neighbours, friends, and strangers. A quiet but powerful reminder that no one has to face the darkness alone.

It was a beautiful and emotional morning and most importantly, an impactful one for those who are struggling with thoughts of su***de or self-harm. Your kindness has made such a difference.

That kind of commitment stays close to home. It strengthens communities. And it helps people find their way back to hope.

The DIL ARKLOW COMMITTEE would like to take everyone who took part in DIL 2026.

Each year we try to make Arklow's Darkness Into Light big and better for all taking part.
This year we are changing our meeting point and our route.

Join us on the 9th May for the most important sunrise of year at Arklow Leisure Centre. We have set out a new route to reach the target of 5km.
Starting Point: Arklow Leisure Centre

1k: South Quay.
2k: Navy Bridge
3k: Wexford Rd
4k: Main St
Finish Point 5k: Arklow Leisure Centre

This community gives so much hope.

It’s already shaping up to be a beautiful morning. Thank you for being one of those precious lights in the dark for someone who feels alone, and for all of your amazing fundraising efforts that make sure no one ever is.

Coming together and looking after each other. Having important conversations. Honouring the people we’ve lost. Smiling, or crying, or both. Finding reasons to hope, no matter how long it takes. Showing courage even when we don’t feel it. Taking small steps toward the dawn. Facing into the darkness and celebrating every small light we can see.
