I haven’t always had the best relationship with money. And I figured it’s important for me to be honest in telling you that.
I work hard…always have. I’m good with people…it’s the thing that has helped me take huge strides in my career.
I started at the bottom of the earnings ladder in this industry. Worked in the bank, in Arnotts, in the 3Arena…all at the same time…just to get by.
I then got an opportunity to join a brokerage and took it with open arms. My earnings jumped massively and really quickly. I wasn’t used to earning that money, and I made a series of unhelpful financial decisions. A combination of trying to flaunt it, impress others, afraid it wouldn’t last, and not having enough self-control at times. Years of earning well, and very little to show for it.
It got to me. And it really bothered me that I wasn’t in better financial shape.
Setting up this page allowed me to help others avoid the mistakes I was making. And I couldn’t be on here preaching all the things you should be doing if I wasn’t also doing it!
It doesn’t come easy to me. But I’ve learned what makes me tick, I’ve got a really robust household budget, I still allow myself to have the ‘ah f**k it’ moments, but it’s no longer about impressing others. Money doesn’t burn a hole in my pocket like it used to.
And I’m determined to help you get there too. I want you to have a good relationship with money, I want you to have good structure, I want you to think long term, and I want you to achieve the things you want to for your future.
