Some recent work completed for a local client installing a new ensuite shower tray, mixer shower and enclosure. This tray was a bit of a monster at 1400 x 900 but the finished article looks very well. This project will also include a boosted water system throughout the house and a grant-aided heat pump retrofit with replacement radiators throughout. More progress photos to follow. Answering a few questions we get asked often:
✅Do I need to be home for the assessment? Yes — someone needs to provide access to the attic, hot press and heating system, but that's all that's required of you.
✅ How long does the site visit take? Usually 1-2 hours, depending on the size and type of the property.
✅How long until I get my certificate? 3-5 working days from the visit, and it's valid for 10 years.

Heat pumps work best in homes that hold their heat — so before a heat pump install, it's worth knowing about the fabric grants available. €2,000 available for attic insulation, Up to €8,000 is available for wall insulation upgrades, and up to €5,600 for windows and doors (€4,000 for windows, €1,600 for doors). Reducing heat loss through the building fabric means your heat pump can be sized smaller and run more efficiently, which pays off in lower bills for years afterward. We can advise on the right sequencing for your home as part of a full retrofit plan.

Wondering what's actually involved in a BER assessment? Here's the process start to finish. 1. Book online or call us, and we'll issue a quote and confirm a date within 24 hours. 2. We visit your property for 1-2 hours to inspect insulation, heating, windows and ventilation. 3. Our survey data goes into DEAP, Ireland's official energy calculation software. 4. Our certificate and advisory report are issued within 3-5 working days, registered on the SEAI database. Straightforward. And you only need to be home for the site visit.
