Just to wish everyone a happy New Year. At this time it is all about reviewing the work we've done over the year. Showcasing the work we are most proud of. In fact, we are proud of all our work – but we just love this photo.

Sweeney Architects we are super excited to be given this opportunity to create a new local landmark, at Drumahair in County Leitrim. The brief will showcase the exceptional talent we have on our design team.  The proposed development will construct a new two storey Open Library. The library will be a public space at the heart of the community that will aim to strengthen communities in a dynamic, creative and inclusive manner.

A little project for the weekend. Well, perhaps not just for the weekend, it may be a bit longer. Our clients, whether involved in a small conservation or a very large project, can rely on us to source the top craftsmen in traditional trades and to ease them through some of the most difficult bits of a restoration.

You might say "why have you stuck rocket launchers on the roof ?" We say "Creating buildings that work sustainably in the 21st-century and beyond is all part of the Sweeney Architects' ethos."
The beauty of these solar panels speak for themselves. The sleek industrial design proclaims sustainable modernity creating buildings that serve the needs of all the community but yet do not destroy the environment.

At Meadowbrook, County Roscommon, Sweeney Architects fulfilled the brief that everyone in the household should have space. We created a place where all residents have space to breathe with light and air and children have a safe area to play as well.

The most overlooked aspect of the room is the ceiling. Here we have created light filled areas in the rooms with visually pleasing details.

We worked very hard with our clients to produce a visually pleasing and environmentally friendly affordable housing estate. A quality suburban environment.

Reducing the attic space allowed us to increase the room area accordingly for future inhabitants to enjoy.

This week in Dromahair, County Leitrim, the "turning of the sod" ceremony for the new library took place. Sweeney Architects' representatives were joined by local dignitaries and government ministers. The "turning of the sod," a traditional ceremony at the start of any new project, represents a great leap forward in the academic and cultural life of rural island. A representative from Sweeney architects, Theresa Keegan said that they had relished the chance to fulfil a very exacting brief from Leitrim county council. Among such requirements for the new building were accessibility for all, low environmental impact and a sustainable future amongst many others.
