FANTASTIC news from our pals in Scotland! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It will soon be a requirement for State Schools in Scotland to teach their students about the history of LGBTI equalities and movements, as well as tackling homophobia and transphobia and exploring LGBTI identity. This is on foot of recommendations put forward by a working group led by the TIE - A huge WELL DONE to everyone involved!🎈🎈🎈

Happy National Coming Out Day! 🧡
October 11th marks 30 years since the National March for Le***an and Gay Rights in Washington, where National Coming Out Day was first observed. It was a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out (Human Rights Campaign).

Although some may say that we shouldn't need to "come out", we can take some time to reflect on our own journeys, and if you're not there yet, don't worry; your time will come when you are ready. 💚

Did you know that gay s*x was categorised as an "unnatural offence" in India and was punishable by a jail sentence of up to 10 years? This week India's Supreme Court decriminalised gay s*x in a landmark historical ruling!

There's still a lot more to be done, as homos*xuality could still result in the DEATH PENALTY in 8 nations, according to a report run by the ILGA World. But for today, here's to another step closer to a more inclusive and accepting society and goodbye to 🌈💕🎈

Hello Folk!

We've been very quiet for a while, but we're back and looking a little different. So here's what's new :)

Sandra has shared our passion for equality and making a difference since the very beginning, but the time has come now for her to take her next step. We wish her all the best for everything that will come, knowing she'll do great.

We have two new entries though: say hi to Eimear and Hayley! These two lovely Irish lassies will be joining Bea to bring Equal Folk to Ireland.
