The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has secured a prosecution against a man in Dublin for carrying out restricted electrical works without the proper registration, leaving serious safety risks behind in a family home in Wicklow. This case highlights just how important it is to use a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor (REC) for any restricted electrical work in your home.

Always ask your electrician if they are registered with Safe Electric and request a completion certificate for any work done – it’s your assurance of safety, competence and compliance with national rules.
