Under Rule No. 45 of the Indian Electricity Rules 1956.
No electrical installation work including additions, alterations, repairs and adjustment to existing electrical installation except such replacement of lamps, fans, fuses, switches, low voltage domestic appliances and fittings in no way after its capacity or character shall be carried out upon the premises of or on behalf of any consumer owner or occupier except by an licensed electrical contractor in his behalf by the State Government and under the direct supervision of person holding a certificate of compantency and by a person holding a permit issued or recognized by the State Government.
इंडियन इलेक्ट्रिसिटी रुल्स 1956 च्या नियम 45 अन्वये कोणत्याही ग्रहकाच्या, मालकीच्या किंवा तबेदाराच्या जागेवर किंवा त्याचावतीने राज्य सरकारने परवाना दिलेल्या परवानाधारक इलेक्ट्रिकल कॉनट्रॅक्टरद्वारे आणि योग्य पात्रतेचे प्रमाणपत्र असणाऱ्या व्यक्तीच्या प्रत्यक्ष देखरेखीशिवाय वीज पुरवठयाचे स्वरुप अथवा क्षमता/भार अशा स्वरूपाचे दिवे, पंखे, फ्यूज, स्विचेस कमी वोल्टेजवर चलणारी घरगुती उपकरणे व जोडण्याची कामे वगळता वीज पुरवठयासंदर्भातील वाढीव काम, बदल करने, दुरुस्ती आणि जुळवणी करण्याच्या कामाच्या अंतर्भावासह कोणत्याही विद्युत् उपकरणे इत्यादि बसवण्याचे काम करण्यात येऊ नये.
