इक दीया हूँ रात में सौ बार जला और बुझा हूँ
मुफ़लिस का दिया हूँ मगर आँधी से लड़ा हूँ

जो कहना हो कहिए कि अभी जाग रहा हूँ
सोऊँगा तो सो जाऊँगा दिन भर का थका हूँ

दुनिया का कोई हादसा ख़ाली नहीं मुझसे
मैं ख़ाक हूँ, मैं आग हूँ, पानी हूँ, हवा हूँ

मिल जाऊँगा दरिया में तो हो जाऊँगा दरिया
सिर्फ़ इसलिए क़तरा हूँ कि मैं दरिया से जुदा हूँ.....

एक पेड पर एक उल्लू बैठा करता था..
एक दिन पेड काट दिया गया...
पेड बहुत खुश हुआ कि अब उसपर कोई उल्लू नहीं बैठेगा....
मगर उसकी खुशी मिट्टी में मिल गई क्योंकि...
पेड को काटकर उसकी लकडी से काँग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष की कुर्सी बना दी गई !
और आज भी उसपर उल्लू ही बैठता है...
