গতকালের সন্ধ্যাটা একটু অন্যরকমই ছিল। মালদায় ছাত্রদের জন্য একটা সেমিনারে যোগ দিতে এসেছিলেন বিশিষ্ট মহাকাশ বিজ্ঞানী ড: দেবীপ্রসাদ দুয়ারী। কিন্তু দুপুরে তো আমার স্কুল,তার ওপর ছিল ইউনিট টেস্ট। তাই সেমিনারের বক্তব্য শুনতে যাওয়ার কোনো উপায় থাকল না। মনটা খুব খারাপ হয়ে গেল। ভার্চুয়ালি ওঁকে এর আগে শুনেছি, পডকাস্টেও দেখেছি ও শুনেছি,লেখা পড়েছি, কিন্তু সামনে থেকে বক্তব্য শোনার এমন সুযোগ...
কিন্তু এবার আশার আলো হয়ে উঠল সৌকর্য্য সোম দাদা। দুয়ারী স্যারের প্রিয় ছাত্র। দাদার সাথেই সন্ধ্যাবেলায় পৌঁছে গেলাম হোটেল দ্য গ্র্যান্ড এমব্যাসি-র পাঁচ তলার ঘরে। আর তারপর! প্রায় দেড় ঘন্টা কোথা দিয়ে যে কেটে গেল! কত কত অভিজ্ঞতার কথা জানলাম যা শুনতে রূপকথার মতোই লাগে, অনেকরকম সুপরামর্শও দিলেন প্রবাদপ্রতিম বিজ্ঞানী জয়ন্ত বিষ্ণু নারলিকরের এই সুযোগ্য ছাত্র। আমি শুধু মুগ্ধ হয়ে শুনলাম।ওঁকে এভাবে একা শুনতে পাব কখনো ভাবিনি। খুব উৎসাহ দিলেন,পাশাপাশি কিন্তু সতর্কও করলেন। হাসিমুখ বন্ধুর মতো ব্যবহার, আমার মতো সামান্য এক ছাত্রের সঙ্গেও। অনেকটা চার্জড হলাম। কিছু ভুল ধারণাও কেটে গেল।

Last evening was a bit different 😊. Renowned astrophysicist Dr. Debiprosad Duari had come to Malda for a seminar for students. But I had school in the afternoon, and on top of that, there was a unit test. So, there was no way I could attend the seminar. I was really disappointed. I had heard him virtually before, listened to podcasts, but this opportunity to hear him speak in person...
But then Soukarya Shome Dada came like a ray of hope. He's Dr. Duari sir's favorite student. I went with him to the fifth floor of Hotel The Grand Embassy in the evening. And then! One and a half hours just flew by! I heard so many experiences that felt like fairy tales, and he gave lots of advice too, the worthy student of the legendary scientist Jayant Vishnu Narlikar. I was just mesmerized listening to him. I never thought I'd get to hear him like this. He encouraged me a lot, and also warned me at the same time. Such a friendly smile and behavior, even with a small student like me. I felt really energized. Some misconceptions also cleared up. Thank you, sir. My respects to you.🙏
