Raaha Mansion is the transformation of a 21-year-old residence into a timeless neoclassical home, thoughtfully reimagined without altering its primary structure. Guided by light, openness, and a deeper connection to nature, the design creates a home that feels calm, contemporary, and deeply rooted in its surroundings.

𝗥𝗮𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 — An old home, seen differently.

Location: Malappuram, Kerala

Transforming an existing home is often more challenging than building a new one.

Raaha Mansion began as an existing residence with enclosed, fragmented spaces that no longer reflected the family’s way of living. Designed by Principal Architect Y A H Y A M A H M O O D M A, the renovation uncovered the potential within the existing structure, transforming it through light, spatial continuity, courtyards, and a deeper relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Every intervention was guided by a single objective: to create a home that feels open without compromising privacy, contemporary while remaining rooted in its context, and timeless in its architectural expression.

From the arrival sequence to the interior spaces, architecture, landscape, and natural light work together as one continuous experience.

Where the House Meets the Landscape.

The exterior of Raaha Mansion was redesigned to sit naturally within its tropical surroundings. Clean architectural forms, deep openings, covered walkways, and carefully planned landscape come together to shape the experience of the home from the outside.

As part of the renovation, the house was reoriented and its relationship with the surrounding landscape was reworked to create a more open and welcoming approach.

𝗥𝗮𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, a residential renovation project in Malappuram, Kerala, was redesigned as a modern neoclassical home where the arrival experience is considered part of the architecture. The gently rising pathway, preserved landscape, and gradual reveal of the front elevation shape the first impression long before you reach the entrance.

Bedroom and Courtyard Replanned Through Renovation 📍 Malappuram, Kerala

𝗥𝗮𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 | The existing bedroom was redesigned to connect directly with a private bedroom courtyard. The layout was reorganised, and new openings were introduced, allowing the courtyard to become an extension of the room instead of a separate outdoor space.

The landscape design improves privacy while strengthening the connection between the bedroom and the outdoors. This bedroom renovation enhances natural light and ventilation and reflects the approach taken throughout this house renovation in Kerala.

The luxury bedroom interior design at Raaha Mansion reflects the overall design approach of this residential renovation project. Instead of feeling enclosed within four walls, the bedroom opens towards the landscape. Every material was chosen to complement the architecture, while the layout focuses on openness, privacy, and a stronger connection between the interior and the outdoors.
