Let’s Change for Betterment: Let’s Go Solar
Electricity is a vital part of everyone’s life. Looking at the future, electricity usage is inevitable. Our dependence on electricity is increasing day by day. We use multiple gadgets that require electricity such as mobile, television, computers, lights, fans and so many other daily things.
Did we ever think about the source of this electricity? The electricity is generated by using a certain fuel. In a very simple example, we can see a Diesel Generator that uses diesel for generating electricity. On a larger scale, bigger power plants use coal, oil, petroleum for generating electricity in one way or another. Major fuel that is being used all over the world is ‘Coal’. Fuels like petroleum, coal generate gases that are the sources of pollution.
The other issue that we face is the soaring electricity prices. We are paying electricity bills every month and it increases in a year or two. It is near to impossible to think about electricity pricing freedom.
But what if we can solve these and more such issues while using electricity at the same pace? Yes, one such source is Solar Energy. From past so many years we are watching the shining sun rising from the east and setting in the west, but did we ever thought about generating electricity and saving the earth from pollution, global warming using sunlight? Yes we can, and let’s discuss a few reasons to go Solar:
1) Availability: Sunlight is the only source of energy that we get for all 12 months, the intensity might vary based on the months but the availability is continuous. We pay for diesel, petrol, gas, even water usage, but did we ever pay for using sunlight? Because sunlight is an abundant source of energy. And imagine using this infinite source of energy for our daily use? There can’t be a better option than this.
2) Electricity Bill Savings: Installing Solar PV Projects in our houses, factories and societies can save our electricity bills. And we can save the electricity bills up-to 90% (in some cases up to 98%). Can we imagine not paying electricity bills for more than 20 years? It is very much possible with Solar Energy.
3) Climate Change: This is a major problem that we are facing and one of the major reasons is the gases that generate from the burning of fuels. While these gases absorb heat and increase the temperature of the atmosphere. This increase in temperature is known as Global Temperature Rise and we all know the reason for this temperature rise. We can save this by using Solar.
4) Saving Transmission & Distribution Losses: The electricity is generated in the power plants that are situated at a certain place and then this electricity is transmitted and distributed to each and every electricity consumer. We all see huge transmission and distribution towers while traveling. This infrastructure cost is one thing, but there are losses in transmission and distribution and we bear such heavy losses to get electricity. If we use Solar Projects and generate our own electricity, we generate and consume electricity at the same place. Hence, it reduces transmission and distribution losses and improves system efficiency.
5) Low Maintenance of Solar Project: Another reason to go solar is that it has very minimal maintenance. As the Solar PV systems have no moving part, the maintenance becomes very low and easy. We only have to clean the panels with water and do the systems checking monthly, quarterly or annual.
6) Solar can be mobile: Solar never means a bigger plant; it can be a small solar bag, solar lantern or solar heater, solar cooker or a solar charger. In today’s world, we have a lot of instruments that can help in our daily needs and yet they are environmentally friendly. Imagine taking a charger that can charge you mobile while traveling in the day time and for night time we can use a small battery and that battery can again be charged using solar in the day. Such independence is possible with Solar Energy.
Going Solar is not a fancy thing; it is the need of the hour. It is a solution that can save a lot of problems in the present and future problems.
