EEVA by VARATECT
This project came to us in April 2025, for Mr. Akhil Vadakkan Pallikkal , located at Malayalapuzha, Pathanamthitta. It is a renovation project of a typical Kerala home with a simple rectangular structure.
At the initial stage, we documented the existing building and presented design concepts. The client gave us the freedom to redesign within his requirements, which allowed us to explore the space more openly.
The existing house felt quite congested, so our approach focused on creating a more spacious and functional home. By introducing extensions and removing selected walls, we redefined the internal layout—transforming it into a well-planned 3BHK with proper living, dining, and two additional bedrooms with attached toilets.
Since the site is located in a calm and serene environment, our intention was to create a home that feels warm, simple, and connected to its surroundings. A “cute” and grounded residence that blends with the peaceful context.
The key feature of Eeva is its sloped roof, inspired by traditional Kerala architecture, giving the house a humble, down-to-earth character while responding effectively to the local climate.
We named this project Eeva, meaning “life,” “living one,” and “source of life”—reflecting the essence of a home designed for everyday living. The typography of the name is also inspired by the elevation design, creating a subtle connection between identity and form.
