“Dreams & Ideas – the real wealth on Earth” say`s Mr. Sam Pitroda (Adviser to Prime Minister, India), the son of carpenter

On 31st March 2012, Mr. Sam Pitroda, adviser to the PM, addressed incubates and young entrepreneurs coming from across the country in an event hosted by Krishna Group of Institutions at LTG, Mandi House, New Delhi.

He said the government is PUSHING INNOVATION at present but in next 2 – 3 years the PULL environment will be created for innovation. He said India is not a country of 1 billion people but of 1 billion stories having potential to generate new ideas.

He plans to democratize information in next 5 years and connect various resources like library, universities etc. through National Knowledge networks i.e. already 70% is complete. He shared that by using optical fibers, 2, 50,000 panchayats are being connected to each other.

He mentioned that our policies have thought of making six sigma products but have failed to envisage people of six sigma quality.

Talking about human development, Mr. Sam Pitroda urged students to build their own path of innovation and to learn discipline, ethics and analytical ability from the past.

He told students that SELF is of 3 types - comfortable, solid and fragile and asked them to pick their type. He adviced youth to believe in their new ideas and ways of implementing the same. It is not necessary to move only as per the parent’s guidance and traditional ways of innovating ideas.

He also encouraged girl students towards entrepreneurship by sharing his experience at the convocation ceremony of Delhi University where out of the 120 Gold medalists, 80 were girls.

Mr. Pitroda expressed his concern about creating 20 million new jobs and motivated the young talent to innovate and use BRAINPOWER to resolve the problems of people at the bottom of Pyramid

Later he invited Mr. Samir Mitra (Officer of Adviser Prime Minister India) to share the Cluster for Innovation approach which has changed the face of MSME`s(Micro small and medium enterprises) . The cluster creates ecosystem in rural areas to connect MSME`s which raises the turnover of MSME`s multifold.

He enclosed the talk by inviting students for Question & Answer session
