Today, I started a little late in Alghero. The temperatures are raising and it already feels like summer. The road along the coast is just a wonderful ride even though landscape repeats. There was a pleasant fresh breeze so that I not only managed to go to Bosa but also a little further to Cuglieri. The Castle in Bose is unfortunately closed but the old centre is worth seeing. From Bosa to Cuglieri, I managed to climb some altitude meters, rewarded with a stunning sunset.

It has been a sunny day today, warm and just right to explore the beautiful island Asinara in the North East of Sardinia. There was a singificant distance of unsealed road, so that I am really tired today, and very happy. ;-)

Today is a beautiful day for riding my bicycle. It's sunny, warm with a little breeze. I have arrived in Stintino. Tomorrow I hope discover Asinara. Hello to everyone following. Photos of today are not spectacular but still show a wild side of Sardinia.

Today was just a short ride, mostly downhill with exception of one long ascent. Weather has significantly improved and I now enjoy an afternoon walk around Castelsardo.

I was walking around in Tempio, since it was cloudy and a little cold. In the afternoon, the sun came out and turned it into a beautiful day for an afternoon ride. I wanted to see the Olivastri millenari di Luras. The backwheel of my bike decided otherweise so that I was walking home 17 km. However, I walked back the small pathways I had not seen otherwise.

The second day, I went from Santa Teresa Gallura to Tempio. It was raining from the beginning for about 3/4 of the time on the bike. I did not take any breaks since I was wet and had cold hands and feet. The scenery is breathtaking, the green is so deep. From tomorrow on there will be sun and the temperature is supposed to go up throughout the week.

My tour has finally started. On the first day there was occasionally light rain and it was windy. Wind implies most of the time head wind. That's how it was today too. Due to weather conditions, I changed my route slightly. I went from Golfo Aranci to Santa Teresa Gallura, passing San Pantaleo, Arzachena and a litte detour via Capo Testa. I skipped La Maddalena, a beautiful island in the north east, because I want to dvisit this place when the sun is smiling.
The first day of such a tour is always special. I always need to get used to carrying so much luggage with me. Handling and stearing are different. I often need a few day to get the weight balace right when packing. Anf of course the speed is much lower that usually. Even if the latter is obvious, it stil takes time to adjust riding as well as route planning. I hope you like the photos. Thanks for following and feel free to comment.

Hello and welcome. This is the page of my cycling tour in Sardinia. I have been looking forward to since actually since 2020 when I enjoyed cycling in Elba. I will take the ferry from Livorno in the evening of the 4th May and cycling starts the following day. I have had tremendous help with planning the route that I hope for lots photo opportunities to be able to share the beauty of this wild and worth protecting island with you all.
Besides cycling, there will be some shorter hikes as well. As internet connectivity allows, I will upload photos and map. Please be patient as of my experience there will usual a delay of one day.
Feel free to comment and even make suggestions on things to visit and explore.
