The Rokko Mountain Range stretches approximately 30 km east to west, adjacent to the urban areas of the Hanshin region, including Kobe city. Most of the mountains are composed of granite, which was formed about 70 million years ago. The present topography is believed to have been formed by repeated tectonic movements. During the Meiji Era (1868-1912), this lush green mountain was logged and turned
