LAUNCH OF ASPHALT PAVEMENT MATERIAL BUSINESS IN VIETNAM
'Establishes new asphalt mixing plant outside Hanoi City'

NIPPO CORPORATION (hereinafter referred to as “NIPPO”) entered into an equity alliance with a Vietnamese paving firm to develop an asphalt pavement material business in Vietnam.
The alliance partner is 703 CONSTRUCTION AND INVESTMENT J.S.C. (hereinafter referred to as "COINCO703") having its principal place of business at Hanoi City.
NIPPO took a 51% stake in the company last August.
COINCO703 has strengths in paving works for national roads and highways, and operates three asphalt mixing plants in Vietnam including the two plants which were temporarily set up for exclusive use for large scale projects, also called the “temporary plant”. Since the opening of its liaison office in Vietnam in 2012, NIPPO has been focusing on the business resources of COINCO703 and has been negotiating an equity alliance with the company since 2018. Although there were various obstacles, such as difficulties in commuting due to the COVID-19 restrictions, finally, after four years, the companies established a capital tie-up in 2022.
In Vietnam, the asphalt mix is often manufactured at the Temporary Plant with poor environmental measures. “There are concerns that urbanization will make it more difficult to continue operating the temporary plants," said Trieu Hong Tuyen, General Director of COINCO703. To this end, by using the investment from NIPPO, COINCO703 will secure the land in an industrial park outside Hanoi City and start construction for establishing a new permanent asphalt mixing plant within this year that can be expected to provide stable operation.
Prior to the construction of the new asphalt mixing plant, Yoshikawa Yoshikazu, President of NIPPO visited COINCO703 on 16th of January for the first time after establishing the equity alliance and exchanged opinions with Le Thu Bang, Chairman of COINCO703 and Mr. Tuyen.
Mr. Yoshikawa commented at the start of the meeting, "We will do our utmost to maintain mutual confidence, and we will discuss everything with our partner, and take this leap forward for both Japan and Vietnam." Mr. Bang added, "I want to make the alliance with NIPPO an opportunity for COINCO703 to grow further." Mr. Tuyen also expressed his determination to "work together with NIPPO, despite the difficult construction market in Vietnam."
NIPPO intends to contribute to building out quality infrastructure in Vietnam by entering into the asphalt pavement material market through COINCO703 as well as transferring our technologies to COINCO703. The companies also agreed to work together for recycling of asphalt pavement in the future, and are planning to add the recycling facilities to the plant to be constructed

On March 8th, 2017, NIPPO held an opening ceremony and prayers for safety at the newly opened asphalt plant situated in Thilawa (25km from Yangon)
Thilawa was selected as an entry point to explore Myanmar market, aiming to develop potential demand for asphalt pavement by demonstrating high quality paving work for the customers investing in Thilawa Special Economic Zone (Thilawa SEZ) .
NIPPO opened its office in Yangon in June 2014, and established a joint venture company with Myanmar local companies in April 2016. Our JV company, “NIPPO ROAD ALLIANCE MYANMAR” (N-RAM) has capital of US$3million (about JPY 350M). NIPPO is the principal investor along with our partners, Dagon International Ltd., Suntac Technologies and Daiichi Sekisan Unyu, Inc.

NIPPO PRESIDENT HIROMI IWATA VISITS GUAM

Nippo’s primary objective to promote its business on Guam was recognized By the Governor. He values Nippo USA, Inc.’s business and performance and was so grateful of its contribution in the construction industry.

In addition, Nippo’s Prepacked Cold Mix “Japan Made Remiphalt”, the first cold mix developed in Japan is being promoted in the Island of Guam. Producing the same tested quality and excellence of this product, Nippo USA, Inc. intends to have it locally manufactured in Guam. With its big potential market Nippo is closely working with the Government of Guam for its recognition.

More than 1 million people have been critically affected by massive monsoonal floods that hit Myanmar from June.
The affected are facing a shortage of food supply, shelter, clean water, as well as medical care.
Many homes have collapsed, roads and bridges were destroyed in the most affected region.
In time of crisis we all want to help.

Nippo USA, Inc. introduced the use of CONCRETE STAMPING on reinforced colored concrete pavement in lieu of using paver bricks. This technique will enable better quality to architectural pavement offering the same look.

SEMI-FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT INTRODUCED IN GUAM
Nippo USA, Inc. launched the used of Semi-Flexible Pavement in Guam. This is a combination of open-graded asphalt mixture base, the air voids of which are filled with cement milk or also known as Polyseal Grout. Principle of which is to form an excellent pavement combining the properties of flexibility and rigidity.
As a paving subcontractor to IMCO Construction at Tiyan Parkway Phase 1 Project under contract with the Department of Public Works, Nippo USA, Inc. pioneered this new pavement technology on Guam which is applicable for use and was introduced at the project’s road Traffic Intersection. Resulted for construction work to be more easily carried out and within a short period of time after application.
Tested with more advantages than a regular asphalt pavement, it is also excellent for heavy traffic roads, parking areas and terminals, applicable to industrial warehouse, industrial floors, Oil Terminals, walkways, bus lanes, inside tunnels and shopping streets.
