Hello ram pump enthusiasts: Thinking of buying ram pump alone could be a costly proposition. There is a lot of variables in the field which which has to be considered. Below are the issues that needs consideration:
1. Water source shall be enough for your needs and has a vertical drop from source to ram pump of at least 1 meter for the ram pump to deliver water to at least 5 meter vertical delivery height. The higher the vertical drop the higher delivery height such as 5 meter vertical drop can deliver water to 25m-40m delivery height.
2. Ram pump size is determined from your water volume need per unit time. Small ram pump may not answer your needs while oversized ram pump may cost you more.
3. Proper pipe lay-out and achorage is also a must for higher system efficiency.
4. Receiving reservoir size shall also be designed considering water inflow and outflow in 24/7 situation.
