πŸŽŠπŸ“£ Announcing our latest solar installation!

We are proud to present our latest completed installation at:
EEMA Care Centre, Soroti City, Uganda.

We installed a 50kWp off-grid system with a 100kWh battery backup. For this new clinic, solar means that from the get-go they can provide reliable, uninterrupted healthcare for their patients.

This is what solar looks like when it's done right.

We had the honour of attending the National Policy Dialogue on Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) and the launch of the Solar Mkononi Platform, an incredible forum to be part of.

A few key takeaways from the dialogue:

πŸ”‹ Renewable energy is climbing the agenda at both national and county level, with several counties now embedding renewable energy into their Integrated Development Plans.

πŸ”‹ A significant share of the Kenyan market remains off-grid, and the real challenge isn't just generating power, but getting the right energy solutions to the right users through a connected, digital energy ecosystem.

We were equally excited to learn more about the Solar Mkononi Platform. It's a promising step forward for the sector, offering installers and consumers alike verified, digital access to solar solutions, and helping build the trust and traceability the market needs to scale.

Grateful to have been part of the conversation, and excited for what this means for the future of solar access in Kenya.

One thing our engineers always mention about working on solar projects across Africa?

The language.

Every project brings together local experts, engineers, and technicians, each with their own language and way of communicating. While English is often the common ground, you'll usually hear a blend of local languages and mother tongues throughout the day.

On many of our projects in Kenya, Swahili becomes part of the soundtrack on the roof.

So we thought we'd share a few of the words and phrases you'll often hear on site. πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺβ˜€οΈ

Your grid-tie solar system just went down. Not because of the panels. Not because of the inverter. Because the grid went out.

That's the built-in limitation of grid-tie systems; their safety mechanism requires they have a signal from the grid to operate. No grid signal = no solar, even at noon on a cloudless day.

The fix? Tie the inverter to a backup generator.

But there's a catch: grid-tie inverters are designed to max out their own output before pulling from any external source. Tied to a generator, that means the inverter tries to carry the full load, leaving the generator idling at near-zero capacity. Causing it to wear out fast.

This is where an energy management system like ENcombi comes in. It balances the two power sources, keeping the generator running at a minimum of 30% capacity while the inverter covers the rest of the load. The generator stays healthy. Solar contribution stays maximized.

We used exactly this setup at St. Christopher's International School. A 150 kWp grid-tie system was the right call both financially and technically . The local grid is relatively reliable, and the system offsets 90% of daytime energy needs.

Solar stays on. The school stays powered.

It's a smart, cost-effective layer of resilience that makes grid-tie viable even where the grid isn't perfect, and it's the kind of thinking we bring to every system we design.

Reach out and let's talk about what setup works for your business.

The future of solar isn't just panels on a roof. β˜€οΈ

At SNEC 2026, three things stood out:

⚑ Battery prices keep falling and seeing the sheer number of BESS manufacturers under one roof showed exactly why. The competition and innovation in energy storage right now is unlike anything we've seen.

πŸ€– Software is the new hardware. Drones, robots, and intelligent energy management systems that forecast solar production and cut diesel dependency are no longer the future, they're on the floor right now.

πŸ”‹ Almost every solar panel manufacturer now offers battery storage solutions. The industry has shifted.

The takeaway? Reliable, cost-effective power isn't just about clean energy generation anymore. It's about combining storage, software, and automation into one smart system.

Exciting times ahead for Africa's energy future. 🌍

Our CEO spent two days at 's HQ and manufacturing facilities in China. It was an eye-opening visit! πŸ™Œ

His three big takeaways:
🏭 Quality built into every step of production. It was also interesting to see how products have been adapted for African markets, including high-temperature operation, rugged environments, and reduced reliance on continuous internet connectivity.

⚑ The new CHS3 solution continues to improve project economics, cutting cabling and installation costs significantly.

πŸ€– Smarter energy management , AI-powered forecasting reduces diesel runtime and fuel costs, while features like Quiet Mode help sites ride through nighttime outages seamlessly.

Grateful to the entire team for the hospitality and openness. Looking forward to strengthening our partnership and continuing to deliver reliable solar and energy storage solutions across Africa. πŸŒβ˜€οΈ

Africa International University didn’t just need solar.
They needed lower energy costs and reliable backup power.

So we designed two systems to work together:
β˜€οΈ A 60kWp grid-tie system to reduce daytime electricity costs
πŸ”‹ A 22.5kWp hybrid system with battery backup to protect critical operations during outages

One system drives savings.
The other delivers resilience.

That’s what smart energy design looks like.
