Professional Niche Formation
Process.
1. Approved Renders & Drawings: Initiate
the project based on authorized
architectural renders and construction
drawings to ensure accurate placement,
size, and depth.
2. Sketching & Layout Approval: Sketch the
final dimensions and position of the niche
on the wall surface, ensuring approval by
site management or the client before any
cutting begins.
3. Hacking & Excavation: Utilize manual
tools (hammer/chisel) for precision or a
hammer drill/rotary hammer for faster,
deeper extraction to achieve the required
depth.
4. Cleaning & Depth Verification:
Thoroughly clean the excavated area,
removing all dust and debris, and verify
that the required depth and size have
been achieved according to the technical
drawings.
5. Molding Team Takeover: The specialized
molding team takes over, reviewing the
approved layout and Preparing the surface
with the relevant bonding agent or render.
6. Sanding & Dust Control: Sand the
surrounding areas if necessary, and clean
the niche thoroughly to ensure it is
completely free from dust to prevent bond
failure.
7. Mortar Molding: Create the niche
structure using a mortar mixture-typically
fine river sand and cement, combined with
water tO create a workable, strong paste.
8. Skimming & Painting: Once the mortar is
cured, apply a skim coat (plasteringljoint
compound) for a smooth surface. Once
dry, the niche is sanded again, wiped
clean, and primed for final
painting.
