🌍 WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026 🌱

OMWASCO PLC joined thCounty Government of Nyeriri, NEMA, Mathenge Technical Training Institute, and other stakeholders in commemorating World Environment Day 2026 at Mathenge TTI, Othaya Sub-County.

The celebrations culminated a series of activities that included environmental sensitization for learning institutions, tree planting at Kariara, Kagumo, and Kagongo Primary Schools, and a clean-up exercise within Othaya Town.

As a water service provider, OMWASCO PLC remains committed to environmental conservation through the protection of water catchment areas, sustainable water resource management, and support for climate action initiatives that safeguard our environment for future generations.

Services offered included:

Today, OMWASCO PLC successfully held a high-level Stakeholders Forum at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Hall, bringing together key government leaders, partners, administrators, and community representatives committed to strengthening water and sanitation service delivery.

The forum was led by Chairman of the Board, Mr. Weston Kamau, and attended by leadership from County Government of Nyeri led by the CECM and Chief Officer for Water, Environment and Climate Change, reflecting the county’s role as the main shareholder of OMWASCO PLC.

Also present were the DCC Mukurweini, a representative from Nyeri South Sub-County administration, and representatives of MCAs from wards served by the company in Nyeri South (Othaya) and Mukurweini sub-counties.

Key presentations were made by:

• Tana Water Works Development Agency
• Water Resources Authority
• Water Police Unit - Nyeri

The forum provided an important platform for engagement on sustainable water management, sanitation projects, protection of water infrastructure, and improved service delivery.

𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗲-𝗚𝗣 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

OMWASCO PLC today successfully concluded a five-day Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System training conducted by the National Treasury e-GP Team for key staff involved in various user roles within the procurement process.

The training covered key e-GP components including preparation of the Annual Procurement Plan (APP), requisition processing, tendering, bidding, bid opening, evaluation, and tenders awarding processes.

The programme aimed at equipping staff with practical knowledge and skills on the digital procurement platform to enhance efficiency, transparency, accountability, and compliance in public procurement processes.

The adoption of the e-GP system marks a significant milestone towards digital transformation and improved management of public resources.
