This holiday chalet design is thoughtfully crafted to offer an immersive natural experience, capturing exceptional views of the lowland terrain from the elevated levels. A modern steel structure with a simple, elegant form is seamlessly blended with ACQ-treated pine timber walls, creating a contemporary yet warm and nature-rich atmosphere. Expansive glazing enhances visual and spatial connectivity with the surrounding landscape, allowing occupants to fully engage with the serene context.

Proposed Mixed-Use Building – Karapitiya, Galle

This compact site, bordered by roads on two sides, is developed to accommodate the client’s private residence on the first two floors and homestay units on the upper levels. The residence follows an introverted architectural approach, organized around an internal courtyard and complemented by a serene backyard.

Natural materials and textures are used throughout to create a calm, grounded atmosphere, while water features and greenery enhance the sensory experience. Carefully positioned openings enable cross-ventilation, allowing fresh air to flow continuously through the spaces and supporting thermal comfort throughout the day.

The interior design blends timber and steel with abstract contemporary art pieces to achieve a refined yet understated character. The intention of this design is not to project status, but to cultivate comfort, joy, and meaningful living for the family.
