📍 The Situation
Team CIAP was assigned to carry out the Annual Blackout Test onboard MV M###X E###X while at the Port of Colombo. The objective of the operation was to verify the vessel’s emergency response capability and the integrity of critical electrical and auxiliary systems under simulated blackout conditions.
The job required strict coordination with vessel crew and engineering teams to ensure safe ex*****on without affecting ongoing port operations.

⚙️ Key Challenges

* Controlled simulation of full blackout conditions onboard
* Ensuring safe continuity of essential emergency systems
* Coordination between vessel bridge, engine room, and CIAP team
* Time-sensitive ex*****on within port operational constraints
* Compliance with safety procedures during system isolation and restoration

🔧 CIAP Ex*****on Approach
CIAP engineering team executed the assignment in a structured and controlled sequence:
👉 Conducted pre-test inspection and system readiness assessment
👉 Coordinated with vessel Chief Engineer and bridge team for test preparation
👉 Gradual isolation of non-essential electrical loads to simulate blackout conditions
