Immediately the partnership was associated with prestigious suppliers to offer solutions for existing buildings as well as new developments. From humble beginnings in 2002, each year saw a steady increase in sales turnover, number of new units installed, number of lifts under maintenance as well as employees. In May 2005 the partnership was changed to a Limited Liability Company. is mostly linked
to MP Lifts (previously Mac-Puar S.A.) which have their head offices in Seville, Spain and factories spread across Spain in Seville, Madrid and Zaragoza. All materials are then collected in a central depot in Zaragoza from where thousands of complete lifts are dispatched yearly. Since October 2012, Groffe Elevator Services Ltd have been sole traders for MP Lifts in the Maltese Islands as well have been given the approval to venture into Libya too. The company specialises in customised applications for vertical and inclined transportation. We offer its clients a vast range of products such as hydraulic passenger lifts, electric traction passenger lifts, ‘machineroomless’ lifts for both traction and hydraulic, car lifts and car platforms, dumbwaiters, goods-only lifts, service lifts and ‘home lifts’. The company offers valid and practical technical solutions even where others fail to attain. Today, the company is highly considered in this line of work on the Maltese Islands and installs around seventy new installations annually. It also has around 650 units under maintenance contract which clients range from Government Offices, Hospitals, Old People’s Homes, Hotels, Offices and Residential Units and Family Homes. The Company also has affiliations to other prestigious suppliers such as OMER Srl and of Treviso and Elevazione Srl of Mirano, Italy who are renowned for Car Lifts, Scissors Platforms and Goods Lifts. Groffe also supplies and installs HL Hydraulic Lifts and Daldoss Dumbwaiters. All Groffe Elevator Services Ltd. staff are experienced with each employee having many years hands-on in this line of work. Many of the staff exceed 10 years working solely on elevators. The company works closely with all local Notified Bodies and ACABSs whereby its installations are scrutinised by Unit Verification in compliance to EN81.20 and EN81.50, EN81.3, EN81.21, EN81.28, EN81.70, EN81.73, Lifts Directives 2006/42/EC and Malta Legal Notice 231/2007 for Lifts as well as the Machinery Directive. In 2007, Groffe Elevator Services Ltd. won and completed installation work on high end elevators in central Belfast, Northern Ireland for the prestigious House of Fraser. Also in 2007, Groffe Elevator Services Ltd. signed a distribution agreement with General Lifts Ltd in Gozo for the sales, installation and maintenance of MP lifts for the island of Gozo. Hundreds of new lifts have been installed. In 2012, Groffe Elevator Services Ltd obtained exclusive distributor rights for MP Lifts in the Maltese Islands. Also in the same year, MP Lifts authorised Groffe Elevator Services Ltd with sales rights over the Libyan Territory and in has now entered into an agreement with Ewan Engineering and Investment of Benghazi, Libya to promote and install lifts in this region. In 2020, increased new lift sales has prompted the company to engage lift installers subcontracted directly from the lift supplier MP Lifts through their subsidiary IFMA MP. This agreement has enabled the company to install many more lifts annually. In 2022, the company shares were completely bought off by one of the founder members, Ing. Stefano Cremona, making him the sole owner of Groffe Elevator Services Ltd. This share transfer brought a change in mentality and the company is re-organising its operations to offer its clients an even better service. Staff compliment has increased drastically in both our maintenance and installation departments. 2022 will see the company install around 90 new lifts, a record year.
