Dou Mu Yuan Jun 斗母元君 — The Celestial Mother of the Big Dipper
In Taoist cosmology, Dou Mu Yuan Jun is regarded as the Divine Mother of the 60 Tai Sui (太岁星君) — the celestial generals who govern each year’s fortune and karmic flow. Every Tai Sui is considered a manifestation or emissary of her cosmic will, carrying out her command to maintain harmony between Heaven and Earth.
How Dou Mu Yuan Jun Governs the Tai Sui
• The Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter) rotates annually, influencing the overall fortune and energy of each year.
• Dou Mu Yuan Jun governs the Big Dipper, which defines celestial timing and the 60-year cycle (甲子六十年).
• Each year, the ruling Tai Sui General receives a divine decree (诏命) from Dou Mu Yuan Jun, authorizing him to manage the blessings, trials, and karmic adjustments for that year.
• In this divine structure, Dou Mu Yuan Jun is the Supreme Commander, while each Tai Sui General serves as her appointed envoy, carrying out her celestial orders on Earth.

It is said that they record and adjust the Heavenly Register of Life and Death (生死簿) — determining each person’s lifespan, health, and karmic flow.
