A time-delay fuse is a special kind of fuse that allows electrical surge for a short time before it actually blows. Due to its special design, it can bear electricity overload in a repeated cycle for a short period without blowing.

This range is designed and manufactured in accordance with ESI 12-6 Time Fuse Links (for use with current transformer releases on circuit breakers) and should be used on all new installations.

This show how to position the time lag fuse into the RMU, This sample for Lucy RMU if you need to delay the earth fault tripping. For Overcurrent you need to put in L1 & L3 terminal.

When utilised in conjunction with Circuit Breaker type Ring Main Units, Time Limit Fuses (TLF) are a cost effective method of providing fault protection for overcurrent and earth faults (optional) to a transformer of 2000kVA or less.
It is a recognised method of protection and was developed to comply with EA 41-26 (now superceded by ENA TS 41-36) with fuse links in accordance with ENA TS 12-6.

It should be noted that the TLF protection system is not a device for limiting overload levels of individual transformers. It should be used for fault protection only.

The TLF system provides protection for overcurrent and earth faults between the MV Circuit Breaker and the LV protection device.

The selected TLF rating should be such that it allows for discrimination between the MV & LV devices. This will ensure that the Circuit Breaker does not open for faults beyond the LV distributor protection device.

When fitted with TLF, the RMU can also be configured to enable tripping of the circuit breaker from remote devices (Bucholtz, LV CB etc) to trip the breaker.

These metered instruments measure current flow in amperes. The ampere level of the current is displayed using either an analogue scale or digital readout. The current is presented in draw (how much current flows) or continuity (how uninterruptable the current is).
