Sachet Water Factory:
The sachet water factory is a simple factory of fair capital investment. It requires a major machine (water packaging machine). The machine has been programmed to package the water in sachet in 50cl. It will produce 2000sachets in one hour, vis-à-vis, 100bags in hour. The factory is simple to maintain, with few workers.
Structure: A standard two bedroom flat is good enough for the factory.
Bottled Water Factory: is of two main types/methods:
1. Semi-automated method.
2. Manual capping method.
In Semi-Automated bottled water factory, you need to buy bottle materials, called PET preforms (they look like test tube used in the laboratory). A machine called Pet-Blower machine is used to blow the PET preforms into your desired bottle shape and size. You will have to customize your mould, in other to produce your desired bottle shape. You can sell bottles to those who package their water manually and at the same time use the bottles produced to package your product (bottled water). This method is 70% automated. The machine is powered by a compressor and electricity. Consequently, it consumes a lot of electricity. You will need a minimum of 60KVA generator for your factory. There are different stages involved, with different machines.
For Manual capping type, you will buy bottles from those who blow bottles. The major differences between this method and the semi-automated method are: (i) you can use hand to cap the bottle; (ii) you will use hand to package and seal the twelve bottled water in nylon; (iii) a little space is needed for the processing machines; (iv) its less expensive. Whereas the Semi-Automated machine (method) does the capping automatedly and convey the bottle automatedly from one stage to the other.
Structure:
A standard three-bed room flat is good enough for manual capping bottled water factory.
To set up a Semi-Automated bottled water factory, a large space of atleast 30ft by 34ft is needed as production room (alone), and six other rooms (that is the finished product room, mini-laboratory room, cloak room, raw-materials room, production manager’s office and toilet) strategically built with the production room. However, your consultant is expected to give you the standard design for the structure.
STEPS INVOLVED:
Get a site (new plot or existing household)
Carry out a geophysical survey of the land (proposed factory site)
Drill one or more boreholes (depending on the groundwater yielding and your target. Much water is needed for bottled water factory)
Carry-out the water chemical analysis of the borehole water to know the quality. Prior to the borehole drilling, you can analyse the existing water (well or borehole) in the neighborhood to ascertain the quality of the water therein. Water chemical content of the water in a neighborhood is usually 70% similar.
Start your structure construction or reconstruction of an existing household.
Purchase your machines and do your Trademark, NAFDAC, SON and other paper works.
