*Saturday Delight For Farmers And All Stakeholders - Episodes 10*
*THE* *PRESCRIPTION* *OF* *SUCCESS* *MENTALITY*
My constant desire is to see people succeed in life. And because most of my activities revolve around farming and farming people, I deeply want farmers to succeed in their farming businesses. But there is always this challenge: it is the mentality issue. Success and mentality are irrevocably linked. Anyone with a failure mentality cannot truly succeed in any business. My prescription for farmers today is to have a success mentality. Without success mentality, no business can survive the rough and tough road of entrepreneurship in Nigeria.
The characteristics of those with failure mentality are chiefly: complaining, negativity, procrastination, small thinking, stinginess, secretiveness, reclusiveness, unwillingness to learn, always blaming people and circumstance, and the likes. These kind of people have no business in farming. Farming in Nigeria is particularly tough and rough. But those who are armed with success mentality will always get things through. I deal a lot with farmers. I know some of them that are doing real well. Chiefly, their secret is success mentality.
Those with success mentality don't believe in failure. They don't complain about this and that. They just keep moving forward. They just keep doing their own thing. They are ever positive. They move fast to grab every opportunity that shows up. They are ever networking and adopting new trends that they know will work. You can't find them romancing with cheap and low quality products. They always think Big and they willingly share whatever they know with others. This is surely the way to make it in farming.
I totally prescribe success mentality for anyone just coming in to the farming industry. Hey farmers! Rise up and believe in yourself. Possess a success mentality at all costs. Push the boundaries. Take intelligent risks. Mingle with other farmers that you believe are doing what you will like to do. Refuse to believe that the country is too hard for you to succeed in farming. Learn to change your perspective towards life. There is a popular saying that tough times don't last, but tough people do. Tough people are those with success mentality. Tough people are always looking for ways to transform their environment no matter what.
Farmers, go for success mentality. Believe you will succeed no matter what. Push yourself. Inspire your workers. Go where the winning farmers are. Let challenges of the moment push you higher.
YOU CAN DO IT!
