With utter shock and sadness, I received the news of the mindless shooting of a citizen by a police officer whose primary job function was to protect the same citizen.

I hereby sympathize with the family, friends and associates of late Bolanle Raheem.
I am therefore assuring everyone of the State Government’s full support and cooperation with the police authorities in their investigation to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the shooting, that led to Bolanle’s untimely death, with a view to ensuring that justice is served.

I have studied preliminary reports on the matter and have instructed the appropriate Government officers to immediately get on it. We must ensure a speedy justice for the late Bolanle. Our Government cannot sit back and watch our citizens killed by the same law enforcers that should ordinarily protect them.

I’m aware that the Lagos State police command have arrested, disarmed and detained the police officers involved in the shooting incident. I can assure you that the accused persons will have their day in Court and nothing will be spared under the Laws of Lagos State until justice is served adequately. We will ensure that it is done speedily because justice delayed is justice denied.

I would also appeal to residents to remain calm and not take the law into their hands on the matter, the State Government will live up to her responsibilities and get justice for the late Bolanle Raheem.

Rapper Eedris Abdulkareem, Wife Mark 18th Wedding Anniversary

Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, and his wife, Yetunde, are marking their 18th wedding anniversary.

The veteran rapper shared a picture of himself and his wife via his Instagram account on Sunday.

Abdulkareem, who just had a kid y transplant surgery in August, penned a lengthy note to his wife saying, “Yetunde Sekinat Abdulkarim, when y life is saved due to y r precious gift, there is o words to express y gratitude. Please know I will always cherish the gift and be grateful forever. I will never be able to tell you all the feelings that I have for you, but I want you to know how grateful I am for the chance you have given me to continue living a normal, productive life. Words can’t begin to describe how grateful I am to you. I have grown to appreciate life and I do not take it for granted.

“Lord, we praise your holy name for watching over us for the past 18 years we have been married. In that time,ave shared each other’s happiness, celebrations, triumphs, accomplishments, losses, sorrows, and laughter. Your grace has led us through every challenge that life has brought, and we can never forget how your unending love has been the cornerstone of our marriage. Today, we look forward to many more years of love and happiness. We pray for blessings such that even the generations that come after us will testify that you indeed blessed our marriage. Amen! Vetiva Capital boss, Olaolu Mudashiru, k by a h -and-run driver in Lagos
Olaolu Mudashiru, a co-founder and deputy managing director of one of Nigeria’s top capital management companies, Vetiva Capital, has passed on.
The businessman/investment banker was reportedly riding a bicycle with a group of cyclists when a car plowed into their bikes on Gerrard Road in the affluent neighborhood of Ikoyi, Lagos, and sped off, leaving them with very serious inj¥ries.
It is reported that Mr Mudashiru and the other two bikers were taken by ambulance to the Lagoon Hospital on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi, where Mudashiru later passed away from head inj¥ries.
Mr Mudashiru earned his medical degree from the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and his MBA from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
He was the late Air Commodore Gbolahan Mudashiru’s son, a former military official in charge of Lagos State.
