Marriage is a very scary thing for me. I have been in relationships where I gave everything to a woman. I gave my time, my love, my loyalty. And in the end, I was betrayed.
That pain never leaves your head. You start to ask yourself, “If I gave all and did nothing wrong, why did she do this to me?” That question stays with you.
So when people talk about marriage, I cannot just jump. I am scared. Not because marriage is bad, but because I fear being hurt again. Walking down the aisle means trust. And trust is not easy when your heart has scars.
I pray that one day I will find peace in this area. But for now, marriage is still a very heavy and frightening thought to me.
