With very tight site limits and a demand for at least 3m setback on all 3 sides, this Church auditorium measures 7x13m excluding the alter, and features a single step 200 capacity gallery.

The shading device provides protection from the sun while the glass walls, together with adequate lighting, painting and the resulting great ambience in the interiors, improve the organic feel and creates an atmosphere that welcomes passersby to worship.

It is expected to give the church brand an elite, forward looking, open-minded, modern identity.

With its simple post, lintel and slab structure, glass partitions, steel trusses, lean to roof and metal shading devices, the concept assures of a cost effective, simple, straight forward design, plus less stress during construction.

This design was submitted by Uzoh Udochukwu Chikezirim.

If you are not yet a member of the Architect's online interactive forum you can use this link http://www.archfiler.com/forums/?wpforo=signup to join. Registration is free. It is also exclusive to Nigerian architects (students, graduates, registered members).

There are numerous benefits that await members, and registration plus all your would-be activity on the platform are free.

We have the opportunity to learn from each other, teach and interact with one another in our capacity as architects and student architects, and in the general interest of the profession and posterity. Please only discussions and requests that relate to architecture are allowed.

It is high time we brought everybody together and played on the same level with other professions, and our foreign counterparts.

Any input you make is guaranteed copyright status with strict prohibition to plagiarism and piracy.

Below is a compilation of what you can do and achieve on the website.

1. You can find or post architecture job vacancies and available IT (SIWES) positions

2. You can access local (Nigerian) case studies. You can also upload yours, and we impore you to upload the ones you have in your possession. Through this you will be helping someone out there. Architecture is all about team work.

3. You have access to really great designs done by Nigerian architects, and you are exposed to the true character and driving force of Nigerian architecture.

4. You can source and upload academic project materials.
All those who upload their projects (only your abstract page and Project title is required) are given the discretion to decide how they share it, for what benefit, and with whom they do.

5. You can publish your own creative writing (This is for those who better express themselves through writing)

6. You are guaranteed guidance and tutorials by already registered and practicing architects, and we assure you of prompt and relevant updates on industry events, breakthroughs, limitations, top designs, and policies.

7. Any design you post on the platform is regarded as your property, and they serve as reference for all your prospective clients. They will also serve as advert points for your practice since unlike facebook and whatsapp, your designs and input can be viewed by virtually everyone out there.

8. You can make requests on any architectural topic. It will be swiftly attended to.

For you to get better criticism and corrections however, we advise that you upload, if you will upload your designs, accompanying floor plans in a way that they cannot be accurately reproduced by a third party. No dimensions.

The only rules on the platform are respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the profession.

We encourage you to always comment on posts published by other people as a form of encouragement to them, but constructively.

The existence of this platform has been approved by the NIA, in principle.

Nigerian architecture will definitely experience a leap in the positive direction if we can have you on board.

Thank you.
