It all started with the artwork…

A whimsical nod to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party — slightly surreal, full of personality, and impossible to ignore.
From that moment, the direction was clear.

Rather than compete, the interior needed to respond.
Soft powder blue cabinetry, warm timber floors, and refined detailing create a calm backdrop, allowing the artwork to take centre stage, exactly as it should.

There’s a balance here I always come back to…
restraint vs personality.

Push too far and it becomes chaotic.
Hold it back just enough — and the space becomes layered, considered, and quietly playful.

The end result?
A home that doesn’t take itself too seriously… but is still deeply resolved.

And that, to me, is where the magic sits.

A special collaboration with the artist behind this piece — where art and interior come together as one.

Real homes. Real clients. Real design.

What started as a New Zealand award winner is now the overall international winner.

2025 TIDA International Suite of the Year. 🏆👏👏👏

Designing the entire master suite, bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom allowed this space to become a true private retreat, inspired by the clients’ global lifestyle and their love of art.

Porcelain mural tiles mitred into the window reveals create an immersive forest setting, anchored by a Patricia Urquiola steel bath and warm brushed bronze detailing.

Proud to see New Zealand design celebrated on the international stage.

These are a few of my favourite things…

Natural stone, texture and true craftsmanship!. And those unexpected materials you don’t see everywhere — the ones that feel as though they were discovered just for you.

The inspiration for my Mad Hatter’s Tea Party kitchen began during a visit to one of my suppliers, when I came across this marble flower mosaic.

One of those moments where you stop… and just know.

Once I take the time to understand my clients, how they live, what they love, the little snippets they share — I begin gathering the pieces. Materials, textures, details. Slowly, the puzzle comes together.

And then the magic happens. ✨

A little whimsical.
A little unexpected.
And the beginning of a kitchen with a story to tell.

More from where this detail found its place coming next…

Nestled in the Waitākere Ranges, my Rainforest Retreat kitchen is all about connection to light, to landscape, to the rhythm of the home itself.

Every challenge of this renovation became an opportunity: structural quirks reimagined as sculptural moments, tonal depth drawn from the surrounding canopy, and material pairings that echo the forest floor after rain.

Sustainability isn’t a feature here — it’s the foundation.
