It is officially the beginning of spring and the September issue of the Marlborough Magazine is out!

You'll find me on Page 24, sharing a little insight into where I've come from, where I'm at now & whats ahead for Paper House Design.

As I roll from my 9th year in business into my 10th, it feels like a special milestone and an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far, as well as getting excited about what the future holds.

Last Monday evening I had the privilege of presenting my vocational talk to my fellow Rotary members.

It was a great opportunity to share the journey behind Paper House Design - how the business began, what drives me and why I’m passionate about designing functional homes along with sharing a few tips around what good design looks like.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend BuildNZ 2026 at Auckland Showgrounds – New Zealand's leading trade event for the building, construction and design industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with suppliers, discover innovative products, and explore the latest technologies shaping residential design and the way we live. BuildNZ brings together thousands of industry professionals to showcase new products, share ideas and discuss emerging trends.

There were plenty of valuable conversations, fresh ideas, and a number of exciting products that I'll be exploring further and considering for future projects.

As an architectural designer, I believe it's important to keep learning, stay connected with industry innovation, and continually look for better ways to deliver great outcomes for my clients. Stepping away from the drawing board every now and then provides exactly that opportunity.

Project 0277 | Bathroom & laundry renovation involving combining the existing bathroom / laundry and seperate toilet to create one large ergonomically functioning space for our client. A full re line of the walls, ceiling and floor along with all new fitting resulting in a beautiful, clean, functional space.

Project 0279 | This boujee one bedroom retreat boasts indoor outdoor flow with its outdoor room with expansive stacking timber doors. The 2.7m stud height with floor to ceiling external doors & windows giving a spacious feel. Skylights for the late night star gazing and of course…the extra light during the day. Clad with vertical shiplap larch weatherboard, corrugate roof cladding, polished concrete floors throughout.
