⭐️PEOPLE OF QUALIS⭐️

Meet Kaylie

Based in Dunedin, Kaylie is one of our Senior TTM Consultants and has recently celebrated five years with Qualis.

During that time, she has built up a wealth of experience across a wide range of projects and has more recently been involved in the NZTA RTTMC Centralisation, contributing her knowledge and experience as the industry continues to evolve.

To mark five years with the team, we asked Kaylie a few questions:

👉What has been a highlight from your five years at Qualis?

Being involved with some neat projects, such as the Coastal Pathway construction in Christchurch and, more recently, the Te Kaha Stadium works.

👉What do you enjoy most about working in TTM?

Problem solving. TTM planning has given me countless challenges to overcome and learn from, so it is always interesting!

👉What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Board games with friends. Dominion is a favourite!

Anzac Day Parade 2026 Canterbury

For the past few years, Qualis has been involved in coordinating traffic management for ANZAC Parade events across Canterbury, and 2026 was another successful year working alongside the organisations involved.

Our role included:
• Developing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
• Procuring temporary traffic management services across Canterbury
• Liaising with Council, Police and RSA representatives
• Coordinating requirements with traffic management contractors

It was great to once again receive positive feedback from Christchurch City Council, Environment Canterbury and the contractors involved.

A well-coordinated effort across all parties for such an important day in our communities.

Lest we forget.

🚆 Rail Safety Week

A timely reminder that traffic management planning also needs to consider the rail network.

If you’re planning works within 100m of a level crossing, make sure KiwiRail is engaged early and any required TMP reviews are completed before work begins.

Plan ahead. Work safely. Keep everyone moving.

Te Kaha – Surrounding Streets

Qualis was proud to support our delivery partners on the Te Kaha – Surrounding Streets project, contributing to traffic management planning, tender development, and ongoing assurance for the road, intersection, and utility upgrades surrounding Christchurch's new stadium.

From the outset, our focus was on developing practical, high-quality traffic management solutions that balanced the needs of construction with those of the travelling public in one of Christchurch's busiest transport corridors.

A key highlight of the project was the opportunity to trial a risk-based assurance approach, developed in collaboration with Christchurch City Council. By focusing assurance activities on the highest-risk aspects of the work, we were able to create a more collaborative and effective process while maintaining a strong emphasis on safe outcomes.

The feedback from both the contractor and onsite traffic management teams was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting that the approach felt more collaborative, practical, and outcome-focused. It reinforced our belief that a well-designed, risk-based assurance process can improve both safety and project delivery.

We're proud to have played a part in the successful delivery of this important project and to continue developing innovative approaches that support safer, more efficient temporary traffic management across New Zealand.

A great mid-year catch-up with the Qualis team!

It was fantastic to have everyone together, including Kaylie making the trip up from Dunedin. We took the opportunity to update our team photos before enjoying an afternoon of paint and sip, a few games of pool, and Korean BBQ.

A well-earned chance to step away from the day-to-day, reconnect as a team and celebrate the first half of the year.

2026 ITM Christchurch Super 440

This year Qualis supported the delivery of the inaugural ITM Christchurch Super 440, helping facilitate a major new event for the city.

Building on our involvement in large-scale events such as SailGP, our role extended beyond traffic management planning. We also managed the procurement and coordination of temporary traffic management services, providing the event team with a single, experienced point of contact from planning through to delivery.

Our focus was on developing practical traffic management solutions, coordinating suppliers, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring the event requirements were understood and delivered consistently.

Feedback from Shanelle Barrett, Event Manager, Supercars NZ:
“I really enjoyed working with you. Your attention to detail and communication made such a huge difference. I’m looking forward to 2027 and being able to refine things further.”

We are thrilled to be recognised as a trusted partner for major events, not only for traffic management planning, but for managing the wider TTM procurement and delivery process.

We look forward to building on the success of 2026 and supporting the event again in 2027.
