Don't Leave Lighting Until Last.

Let's take a closer look at the exterior lighting at Weston Road.

Good exterior lighting should do more than light a path. It should complement the architecture and create the right feel once the sun goes down.

A good rule of thumb? Light the features you want people to notice. A few well-placed fittings will almost always look better than over-lighting the whole home.

Every fitting on this project was carefully installed to suit the build and deliver a clean, high-quality finish.

Good projects come down to strong communication, reliable trades and work that holds up under pressure.

BHC was proud to support the Inkster Company across both The Prebbleton Hotel and Cranford Ale House, delivering electrical work that kept each project moving and met the standard required from start to finish.

Builders have enough to manage without worrying about their sparky.

We turn up when we say we will, communicate clearly, and solve problems early so they don't hold the build up.

We know every trade relies on the one before them, so we focus on doing our part properly. That's why so much of our work comes from repeat builders and referrals.

A bit more progress at Heaton Street.

The boys are onto the outdoor electrical, getting cabling and lighting positions sorted before the landscaping is finished off.

This is the stage where getting the detail right matters. Once paving, planting and hard landscaping start going in, moving cables or changing locations becomes a much bigger job.

Plan it early, get it in the right place, then let the landscapers do their thing.

Project Spotlight | Weston Road

Weston Road was a project where the electrical plan was considered just as carefully as every other part of the build.

We worked closely with the client and wider project team to deliver a complete electrical fit-out, including layered lighting, feature pendants, backlit mirrors, custom vanity lighting, exterior lighting and smart home integration.

A lot of the work on a build like this happens before anyone picks up the tools. Planning where every light goes, how each space will be used, and making sure everything works with the architecture is what makes the finished home feel right.

Really proud of how this one came together.

Sick of your sparky saying he’ll be there in an hour?

Same.

Builders have enough moving parts on site without chasing the electrical team. We turn up when we say we will, solve problems before they become everyone’s problem, and leave the site how we found it.

Building a new home? Don't just think about where the power points go. A good lighting plan can completely change how your home looks and feels.

Here are five things we'd be including every time:

1. Layer your lighting – Don't rely on downlights alone. Mix in pendants, wall lights, LED strips and lamps to create a home that feels warm, functional and a bit more premium.
2. LED strip lighting – Perfect under kitchen cabinets, in shelving or around feature areas. It's a simple upgrade that adds a nice finish.
3. Sensor lighting – Ideal for pantries, wardrobes, hallways and garages. Once you've got it, you'll wonder why every home doesn't have it.
4. Stair lighting – Looks great, adds a bit of wow factor and makes navigating the stairs at night a whole lot easier.
5. Exterior feature lighting – Adds street appeal and makes your home feel finished.

Planning a new build? Have the conversation early. It's a whole lot easier (and cheaper) to get it right before the gib goes on.
