Many companies who have been providing Healthy Home
Assessments are no longer providing these services now that the heyday of high volume of assessments along with the profiteering from any required work on properties has passed.

For the last 2 and a half years I have been completing Healthy Homes assessments for rental properties and I have now completed over 2500 of
these checks.
I focus on producing objective reports where assessing the
property against the requirements of the Healthy Homes Act are the focus. (I am not a salesperson looking to sell product in order to make Healthy Homes assessing viable or gathering information not relevant to the Healthy Homes Act for future targeted sales). I will also check the smoke alarms to ensure they meet the requirements in the RTA.

Independent Insulation QA service available for new build and existing homes.
I have attended many forums where more insulation is often touted as the solution to improving the comfort of homes. However best practice installs are not always performed. Installers are often paid by the sqm with high targets so completing as many sqm as possible to make a reasonable days pay becomes the driving force and a QA check of the completed work is not performed. The building inspector may pick up a few problems but the building inspection is not an insulation QA check.
A comprehensive check of the insulation install prior to lining install on a new home will highlight problem areas.

Brought down I think by not allowing for all the extra costs in building on the hills following the earthquakes.
Still think Platinum who let Yogi have such a large region of Platinum should come to the party especially when they let him continue in one region when he was failing big time in another. Platinum supplies bear some responsibility as it didn't happen overnight.
Plenty of other options out there and I would steer clear of Platinum.

The Quinn family is about to spend its third Christmas waiting for their new house to be completed.

The standard can't do for this type of ceiling without investigation. I came across the exact situation when scoping houses for insulation in Dunedin, but the homeowner knew that there was space to insulate.
We need to start thinking that if houses can't be insulated they are not fit for people to live in. Houses who aren't fit to live in should be demolished and replaced!

The council told Lynda McKenzie the job wasn't possible. It wasn't, until she got it done herself.
