QuickBuild Homes was first dreamed up back in 2007 by Neil when some local rental homes fell into disrepair. With new home prices being so expensive, he knew this problem would only get worse. Fewer and fewer people are able afford a new home and when people actually do manage to purchase a home, it is often second hand, damp, expensive to maintain, and usually poorly insulated if at all. Neil knew there had to be a way of providing warm, low maintenance, and affordable homes to New Zealanders, but as with all hopes and dreams there are always problems and let downs. It soon became apparent that despite his best efforts, there were not enough builders to build the homes that NZ requires. Add that to houses taking weeks and months to get consent, months to build on site, and often running tens of thousands of dollars over budget, it seemed like an impossible task. Neils’ own company and invention, and the possible answer to the housing crisis. QBH’s aim, its goal, is to provide Warm, Affordable, Strong homes to all New Zealanders. Pre-approved designs taking 10 days consenting time, Steel lined walls for extra strength, R4.8 insulation in the Floor, walls, and roof, all at the affordable cost of $1999+gst/sqm. But even then Neil knew that you could have the best homes in the world but if there was no one to build them then it was all for nothing. So he designed a Kit-set home that was easy to build, so easy in fact it is more of an assembly process. With materials pre-manufactured in house, complete with a 3d assembly manual, a QBH home has now become possible for any NZ’er with a little bit of Kiwi can do attitude to assemble on site themselves in 4 weeks. QBH is reshaping the housing industry slowly but surely into homes that are Affordable, Very warm, and Very strong, all while being quick and easy to assemble. QuickBuild, your new home.

Some really great news this week, we officially broke ground on the new site in Tokomaru! 🪏 🎉
This will be an awesome 5-bedroom house with a double garage, on a stunning piece of land. Just look at those mountains in the background! ⛰️
We’ve marked out the site and begun prepping the driveway for metal.

Sanson: The garage has been finished, and the shell build of the house completed. Still lots of work to go, but it’s coming along very nicely!

Feilding - The garage slab is down and setting, and the new driveway fences have been completed.

The boys have made some excellent progress up in Auckland -

1st House - The shell build is complete! That means it’s weather-tight and secure, able to be locked up.
2nd House - The floor, walls, and roof are in place and secured. The next step is installation of the windows and external doors.
3rd House - The floor is almost down on the first house, with tracks/skirting ready to be fixed for the walls to go up.

This week brings you an update on the Auckland project. 🏙️💪

The trucks were loaded early morning, with Mcintosh Cranes trucks and trailer taking the container and majority of the panel, and the boss’s ute with the rest. Yup, the boss actually does some work, occasionally! 🫣😂(Kidding, he does most of it haha!) A couple of snack stops, and a lot of coffee stops later, they arrived on site to find the boys eager and ready to make a start. 🏗️

The boys had already spent a few days on site prepping for the delivery and getting the foundations in, so they were pumped to go! 👊 McIntosh made short time of the unload, craning the panels all over the site, and the boys got into it!

Coming soon: Over the next few weeks we hope to break ground on the Tokomaru site🪏, and we’ll also have some more updates on the Feilding project. 💪🏻

Oops, I think missed a post last week… turns out we were a little too busy building! 🏗️😅

Loads going on on lots of different projects and sites:

Auckland project: Containers being loaded and the site's been cleared and pegged, ready for 3 new homes starting next week!

Sanson: Well underway with the floor down and walls going up!

Rotorua: Interior fit-out is in full swing and the outside is almost finished!

Whanganui: A brand new site signed! We've been out for a site visit to get things ready for building consent application

Feilding: Site clearing, fencing, and the garage slab being prepped!

Busy times, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Stay tuned for more progress! 💪

Never gets any less busy! A lots been happening over the last few days and weeks… 💪

We've got a new 3 bedroom project starting in Hastings - The foundations have been dug and concreted despite the atrocious weather! 🌧

And another 3 bedroom home was signed up this week too!
- This time out in Rongotea, and it's a lovely flat site this one!

And continuing on the Sanson site, the garage is nearing completion and the house materials have been delivered ready for construction to get underway! 🏠

Finally got some time spent on one of the Sanson sites...
The main house now has the dpm down and the bearers back on ready for Jambuilt Construction to get started on the floor and build upwards!
We're also well underway on the garage and should have that enclosed with windows and doors in by the weekend!

Check out this site for a new project in Horowhenua! 🏗️

We've been building some big homes on some awesome sites this year, and this one's no exception! This customer has chosen one of our largest 5-bedroom homes, paired with one of our double garages - Combined nearly 210sqm small!

A full turnkey project again, just the way we like it. Construction should get underway in a few months, so stay tuned for updates! 🔨

🔨 Cracking through the projects over the last few weeks!

🏠 Rotorua – The shell-build is complete and ready for handover! It’s come up really well, and in good time considering all the additional bracing required for the TC3 ground conditions.

🏠 Eketahuna – Continuing along at a good pace. Most of the external cladding is now on, vinyl is laid, and the kitchen and bathrooms are being fitted out. Starting to look like a home!

🏠 Pahiatua Track – This one is nearing the finish line! Just a couple of final finishing jobs to tick off, then it’ll be ready for handover too. Can’t wait to see what the customer does with the landscaping and driveway, lots of potential!

Plenty happening across the sites and great to see another couple of QBH homes reaching completion! 👌🏡

Making the most of the good weather while it lasts! ☀️🏠

☀️ On the Pahiatua Track project, the off-grid solar system is taking shape and the internal fit-out is almost finished!

🔨 Internal fit-out is now well underway in Eketāhuna, with the roof on, windows and doors in, and the home really starting to come together!

🚜 And we’ve just kicked off another exciting build in Rotorua , Another brand new 95sqm, 3-bedroom home. Looking forward to sharing the progress as this one comes together!

It’s about time for another quick update on some of the projects we have underway at the moment! 🏡🚧

Things have been busy across the region, and despite winter throwing us a few challenges, we’re making great progress.

🔨 Feilding – We’re getting ready to kick off another project soon. This one is another spacious 3-bedroom home with a double garage, and we’re aiming to have it completed before Christmas.

✅ Mangaweka – We’re 99% complete! The only thing left is the customer’s solar installation, which is well underway, before we can go for the final inspection officially hand over another beautiful home.

🚜 Pahiatua Track – This project is coming together nicely. The water tanks and septic system are installed, the carpet is down, and we’re now working through the finishing touches along with building the solar array.

🏔️ Eketāhuna – The recent run of good weather has really helped us get a much needed boost! All the walls are up, the roof is on, and the windows and doors are going in today. Said it before, and will say it again, What an incredible building site with some absolutely stunning views!
