Meet The Team - Sammy

This week we're introducing Samiuela Folau, better known around Bomax as Sammy 👷‍♂️💪

Sammy's favourite part of the job is working alongside the crew, tackling challenges together and finding the best solutions to get the job done right 🤝🔨. He also enjoys travelling to different sites and says some of the places we work have some of the best scenery he's ever seen 🌄🚛.

When he's not on the tools, you'll find Sammy spending time with his family or enjoying his favourite sports 🏉⚽.

A fun fact about Sammy? He's bilingual and speaks both English and Tongan.

Sammy is a valued member of the Bomax team, bringing a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a team-first approach to every project he's involved in. Whether it's helping solve challenges on site or keeping morale high with the crew, he's someone we're proud to have as part of the team.

We're starting to think our clients are competing for the best view! 😍

This 286.88m² Firth X-Pod foundation at 224 Logan Road, Pukekawa is another beauty. With plenty of angles and an epic outlook over the Waikato countryside, this one kept the team on their toes but was worth every bit of effort.

Safe to say we'd be pretty happy waking up to this view every morning! 🌿🏡

Awesome work by the crew getting this one completed. A huge thank you to Falmax Concrete Ltd for laying and Empire Concrete Pumps for another smooth pump. We love working alongside great people who help us bring these projects to life.

Looking forward to seeing the house take shape from here!

Another great foundation completed, and another one with some pretty impressive views! 👌

On Tuesday we poured 236.63m² for what will be another fantastic home in a beautiful part of the Waikato. It's always a privilege to be involved at the very start of a build and see these projects take shape from the ground up.

🏠 How's that for a view?

Yesterday we poured this 236.01m² foundation for Sentinel Homes at 210A Mangarino Road, Te Kūiti.

Some sites are memorable because of the project. Some are memorable because of the location. This one is both.

Perched amongst the rolling hills of the King Country, the outlook from this site is simply breathtaking. Once completed, this home will have one of the best views around, and we're proud to have been the team entrusted with laying the foundations.

Meet The Team - Chris Jager! 👋

Chris is one of the great guys on our Bomax crew, bringing a positive attitude to every job. He enjoys the variety and challenges that each project brings, but what he enjoys most is the team he works alongside every day. No matter what's happening on site, Chris always seems to have a smile on his face, and it's one of the things we really appreciate about him.

When he's not at work, you'll usually find him spending time with his kids, watching sport, playing a bit of golf, or trying his luck out fishing. He's also a fan of boxing training, although he admits he's currently taking a well-earned break! 😂

Fun fact: Chris was born in Christchurch and spent his childhood living all over New Zealand, moving through several towns before he turned 13.

We're lucky to have Chris as part of the Bomax team. His positive attitude, willingness to take on a challenge, love of the crew around him, and trademark smile make him a valued member of the team. 💙

Progress shot from a few days before the pour... 👷‍♂️🚧

On Monday the team poured this impressive 404.32m² foundation for Pragma Homes, made up of six units and featuring 12 x 2.1m concrete piles to create bridging beams over an existing stormwater pipe running beneath the site.

The cold winter weather has certainly been making concrete take its time to set, but our Falmax Concrete Ltd crew have been doing an outstanding job, keeping everything running smoothly and maintaining the high standards we're proud of.

A big shout out to Empire Concrete Pumps for pumping this one for us and helping make the day a success.

Projects like these are a real team effort, and we're incredibly grateful for the hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes of everyone involved, especially on these frosty Waikato mornings. ❄️☕

🚧 A HUGE MILESTONE FOR BOMAX THIS WEEK! 🚧

Yesterday, we poured the foundation for our new Bomax workshop at 147 Glastonbury Avenue, Hamilton — something we've been working towards, planning for, and dreaming about for a very long time.

A massive shoutout to the Falmax Concrete Ltd crew, who did an outstanding job placing the concrete, and to Empire Concrete Pumps, who kept everything flowing seamlessly on the pump. Both teams were on site from 4:00am to make sure the day ran smoothly, and the support, effort, and generosity shown was incredible. It's something we won't forget. 👏

Yesterday afternoon, we gathered with our team and subcontractors for a BBQ to celebrate the occasion. Looking out across the freshly poured foundation where our future workshop will soon stand made it all feel very real.

As many of you know, we've long since outgrown our current workshop, so reaching this stage is a huge milestone for our team and our business. There's still plenty of work ahead, but yesterday was one of those moments that makes you stop, take a breath, and appreciate just how far you've come.

To our team, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, family, and friends — thank you. Every foundation poured, every challenge overcome, every early start and late finish has helped make this possible. We wouldn't be here without the incredible people who have supported us along the way.

We're incredibly proud of what we've built so far, and even more excited about what comes next.

Here's to the next chapter of Bomax. 🏗️💙

☕🧁 The little things really do make the biggest difference. 🧁☕
Our crew kicked off the week yesterday at Driver Road West, Ngaruawahia, boxing up a foundation for Downey Designer Homes on what can only be described as a pretty miserable Waikato winter morning! 🌧️🥶

What they weren't expecting was the incredible hospitality from the homeowner, who welcomed the team with fresh homemade muffins, hot coffee, and a couple of very awesome four-legged supervisors who were more than happy to inspect their work. 🐾🐶

The kindness was completely unexpected but absolutely made everyone's day. It's gestures like this that remind us how lucky we are to work with such great people throughout the Waikato.
A huge thank you from all of us at Bomax – the muffins, coffee, and puppy cuddles were the perfect way to start the week. 😊

Unfortunately, you'll just have to take our word for how awesome the dogs were. As for the muffin photo... full credit goes to Kelly. Judging by the quality of the photo, it's safe to say photography won't be replacing foundations as his day job anytime soon. 😂📸

6 more units down! 💪

Two foundations were successfully poured on Monday at the Platinum Homes, Cadman Street subdivision in Waharoa — and we were pretty lucky to get those across the line when we did.

The next two were lined up for yesterday… but the weather had other plans 🌧️

It’s that tricky time of year where even the best-laid schedules are at the mercy of the forecast. That said, we’re working hard behind the scenes to reshuffle and get everyone locked back in as quickly as possible.

We really appreciate our clients’ patience — it doesn’t go unnoticed, and we’ll always do everything we can to keep things moving.

Now we’re just crossing our fingers for a decent run of weather so we can keep the momentum rolling ☀️
