A small electrical business based here in Gisborne.

Mostly just trying to do good work, communicate well, and leave things better than we found them.

Not ready for a full solar system?

We've recently added One Energy's Sol•Flare to the options available through Indolec.

It uses a small solar array of 4–6 panels to power your existing electric hot water cylinder directly — no solar inverter or battery required.

A pretty clever way to tackle one of the bigger energy users in the average home without jumping straight into a full solar system.

Get in touch if you'd like to know whether it could work at your place.

A bit of solar work at my own place.

20 panels giving us 8.8kW of solar paired with a 6kW Sigenergy inverter.

This is also the first step in electrifying the house and eventually getting rid of our natural gas connection.

I've held off on batteries and backup for now. I want to see how the numbers stack up first.

And having solar on my own roof means I can give customers advice based on actually living with it, not just selling it.

Out in Masterton this week wiring up this Justsen boiler all the way from Denmark.
Bit bigger than the usual jobs… but good fun.

Running a business in 2026 means H&S is front and centre.

I’ve always been big on compliance (and love a bit of paperwork), so finally ticked off heights training.

Means we can now get up on roofs and do solar properly — and safely.

One year running Indolec in Gisborne on my own.

Biggest takeaway : just keep showing up, do good work, and look after people.

Plenty still to learn, but it’s heading in the right direction.

Thanks for all your support.

Another week coming to an end.

Rain slowed the solar panels going up, but still made some progress.

Bit of everything — sump pumps, EV charger swap, and starting a Midea solar install.

Need to get better at taking photos.

Solar enquiries have definitely picked up lately around Gisborne for us.

Most people are asking the same few questions —
Does it actually stack up financially?
Do batteries make sense yet?
And how complicated the install process is.

We’re learning more with every client we meet with.
