🐱🌴 The cat came down... eventually!
A fearless feline that found itself stranded at the very top of a towering palm tree in Ebbett Park became the centre of a five-hour community rescue effort today.
The adventurous moggy was believed to have been stuck up there for four days, prompting calls for help to bring the reluctant climber safely back to earth.
A huge shout-out to everyone who answered the call, including Cam and Annaliese from CJS Tree Contracting Ltd, Matt from The Armoury, who donated a boom lift for the day, and SPCA Hastings staff who were on-hand for support.
In true cat fashion, after all that effort and attention, it decided it was ready and leapt down the tree on its own before disappearing safely across the park.
The Hastings SPCA is asking the residents of Oliphant Rd to keep eyes and ears peeled. They are able to provide traps and vet care if required.
Thanks to everyone who helped prove once again that Hastings has a community that's always willing to lend a hand – even when the rescuee has other ideas!
