A newly planted garden can be underwhelming after dreaming of a fully formed concept for months. Give it a year and things will have grown considerably, doubling in size if not tripling for very vigorous types. Year two brings the young garden stage where many plants are at their pristine best without intervention. Year 3 and beyond it comes into its own with maturity. Enjoy it in all its stages 🌸🌸 Check back in a year to see this new design I’ve just planted out in Amberley (for a really lovely couple who deserve to enjoy a little haven of their own) expand and grow into itself! A wee few before pics at the end.

I’ve had a few update photos from a job from last year. 🙂♥️first few pictures are a reminder of when the garden was just a baby. Last few are with a seasons growth. A year or two and the wall will be covering in green :)

Over my break I was so lucky to visit Frensham Garden, Ohinetahi and the very local Casa Rossa. This is my most mature nepeta ‘Six Hills Giant’ and using this fluffy golden retriever for scale it lives up to that name. The tallest flower is up to my shoulder so if using it in your garden be sure to give it plenty of room. I will cut it down to the ground in mid January and see another flush of flowers by autumn.
