War of the wings round 2!

After an early finish to last weeks feature at Ellesmere, we were excited to get stuck in at ruapuna for round 2.

We didn’t qualify the best, made some mistakes as a driver and timed in 10th.

We started p12 for the first heat race, got caught up a little and didn’t race to best of our ability and finished up 9th.

Heat two, we started from the front row, and managed to lead all 10 laps to Rangi and Myers.

This put us 7th for the feature, missing the dash by one spot.

30 laps around ruapuna speedway, tucked to the bottom early and moved to 4th early in the race, got gifted a couple spots and found ourselves running second. Unfortunately with 5 or so to go we got passed by 3 or so cars, racing each one of them back put me in the clutches of the next car and we fell to 5th.

I’m frustrated we didn’t pull off a podium finish, weve been in the top 3 every week so far and have some work to do.

We have a tone of car speed and I know we’re on the right track.

Jumped in a mod sprint today down at hazard county!

Thanks to my sponsor Savy Racing Team for the opportunity

Was cool to get a bit of data, we’ve been helping Shane get a little more comfortable this year and I think we learnt a lot of how much more we can get out of it!

Started from p3 in the first race, picked up the lead through the race and put a good 1/2 lap on the field!

We were lucky to get the second heat win, moved into second and reeled in the leader from a straight away back and made a move coming to the white flag

Started pole for the feature, had a convincing lead until a mid race caution, and once again cleared out to park it in victory lane!

Was a low car count today, but I’m excited to get back in it at some stage this year, and see how we stack up against the big dogs!
