Summer's coming. Get the cooling sorted now.

These are some recent Mitsubishi Electric OmniCore Multi installs around the Hutt and Wellington. One outdoor unit runs a heat pump in more than one room, so you're not covering the side of the house in boxes.

Each indoor unit is set separately, so you can cool the bedrooms at night without running the whole house. In winter it flips to heating.

I do the site visit, the written quote and the install myself. A registered electrician does the connection and the CoC.

Goodbye gas heater, hello Mitsubishi Electric 🔥❄️

This customer was over paying the gas daily fixed charge just to run one heater. So out went the gas heater, and in went a Mitsubishi Electric floor console in the same spot in front of the fireplace, keeping all that lovely stonework on show. We also put a slim high wall unit in the main bedroom.

Another job wrapped up, this time at Annesbrook Church in Lower Hutt. ⛪

We installed two GREE Kingfisher high-wall heat pumps: a large-capacity GWH36 for the main space and a GWH12 for the smaller room. Both outdoor units are wall-mounted on brackets, with neat capped pipework and isolation switches, keeping everything tidy and off the ground.

Two more GREE high-wall systems in this week.

12 months on the wall. Time for a proper service.
Back on site today for the first annual service of this Mitsubishi Electric AP Series system we installed last year.
A heat pump doesn’t need to be broken to need attention. After a full year of heating and cooling, dust builds up on the indoor coil and filters, the drain needs a flush, and the outdoor unit needs a clean and check — especially sitting under the house where dirt and debris collect.
Skip that and the system quietly works harder. Power use goes up, airflow drops, and small issues get left until they become expensive ones. Mitsubishi Electric recommend a professional service at least once a year. It also keeps the warranty in a much stronger position if anything ever goes wrong.
That’s what today was for. Indoor and outdoor cleaned and checked, system running as it should, ready for another year.

Just finished this one in beautiful Wainuiomata today.
Replaced an old, tired-looking Daikin with a Mitsubishi Electric EF Designer in Gloss White. The customer is renovating the home and it’s great being part of making the space look as good as it’s going to feel. Once that wall gets painted, this slimline Designer unit is going to really pop.
We tidied the outdoor install at the same time. The existing outdoor unit wasn’t sitting on paving slabs — we’ve got it properly mounted and looking a lot cleaner.

Tight on ground space? Roof-mounted outdoor units are an option.
A couple of recent jobs:
One GREE sitting on a solid base with clean trunking running up the roof and the isolator finished properly.
The other on a purpose-built stand on corrugated iron — unit isolated off the roof, pipes flashed through with a proper boot, nothing sitting hard on the metal.
We only go on the roof when it actually makes sense: no room at ground level, better airflow, or the unit needs to stay out of the way. It has to be done right though — level, vibration isolated, structure checked, and service access left so you’re not paying extra later.
Not every roof is suitable. That’s why we look at the site first.

Pulled out a completely rusted-out outdoor unit today and replaced it with a Mitsubishi Electric AP80 Smart.
That’s 9.0 kW heating / 7.8 kW cooling, built-in Wi-Fi, energy monitoring, Dual Barrier Coating so it stays cleaner for longer, and R32 EcoCore tech that actually copes with a Canterbury winter.
The old compressor and coil were gone. Rust had eaten through the cabinet. That’s what happens when a unit sits outside for years with no maintenance and no corrosion protection.

Another clean install done in Strathmore Park. Two Mitsubishi Electric AP60 Smart high-wall units in this home — 6.8 kW heating/6.0 kW cooling each. Built-in Wi-Fi allows them to fire them up before they get home, with energy monitoring on their phone, Dual Barrier Coating for cleaner internals, and Wide + Long airflow for these open rooms with big sliders. Outdoor units are on proper pads, pipework is insulated and finished properly, and indoor units are level and tidy. That's how they should go in.
