What does it really mean to future-proof a new home?

Sometimes it’s less about adding expensive extras and more about making smart provision for things that would be much harder to install once the house is finished.

Central vacuum ducting is one example.

For builders and property developers, the ducting and inlet points can be installed during construction without installing the complete central vacuum system.

The future homeowner then gets to decide. They might add the system straight away, five years down the track, or never at all.

Building a new home? Here's something you may not have thought about while the walls are
still open.

You don't have to install a complete central vacuum system now to keep the option open for later.

Installing the ducting during construction means the pipework and inlet points can be incorporated into your home now, and the power unit can be added when, or if, you're ready.

It's a bit like the other future-proofing decisions we routinely make when building. You may not need everything today, but putting the infrastructure in place now can make life considerably easier later.

Why are we dropping the word “Systems” and replacing it with “Solutions”?

Partly because, with our European suppliers and their products, we want to differentiate ourselves
from those other central vacuum suppliers in New Zealand by using the words “European” and
“Solutions”. We think “European” because we are the only supplier selling “European” products,
and that “Solutions” best describes our approach to the way we do business.
