What an adventure!
Four months later, we've completed 3 sites with a new shelter, steps and track and navigated a storm, a cyclone, and a flood. We are so stoked to have completed this amazing project. It has been an incredible experience and such a privilege to work in such a special and significant place. We're pretty happy with the mahi too!
Ngā mihi maioha/our deepest thanks to everyone involved in this project...
🌿 Iwi and hapū: Ngā mihi nui, our acknowledgements and deepest thanks to Ngāti Hine Kura, Ngāti Kura Whatia, Te Marae O Tieke for welcoming us to this beautiful place.
🌿 Liam from Platinum Plumbing Solutions: Holy hecka, you are a bloody legend mate. Thank you for your excellent mahi, your awesome attitude, your very handy engine skills, and for introducing us to instant mashed potatoes. Couldn't have done it without you.
🌿 Whanganui River Adventures: Thank you so much Ken and Jospehine for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us, for your help and support during the project, and for getting us in and out of the bush safely. Kia ora rawa atu.
🌿 RTB Heli Ltd: It has been a pleasure to work with you on this project. It's not every day (in fact it's never) that your materials get delivered by helicopter. We appreciated your professionalism, your expertise, and the excellent attitude shown by your staff. A special thanks to Steve for stepping up when things got a bit hairy. Legends.
🌿 Department of Conservation: thank you for this opportunity and thank you to the local rangers for your help and support throughout the project. Ngā mihi nui.
🌿 Our merchants: Carters Kāpiti, Zip Plumbing Kāpiti, Quin Roofing Levin. Thanks so much for looking out for us and supplying our materials. A special thanks to the Carters team for going the extra mile and bundling our materials to the correct weight and specs so they could be delivered. Love your work.
