Thank you Carey Clements for acknowledging the passing of Ron Farrell an icon in the game from his era in Wgtn. He was 86 years of age. A former Kiwi representative he played 81 games for Wellington and captained his Waterside club to winning the 1975 Appleton Shield premier championship. He is well remembered for his commitment to maintaining a high level of physical fitness keeping this up after his retirement from the game and was a role model for upcoming players to keep up the training. He was also an active competitive tennis player. With whakapapa to Ngāti Porou he was a champion for Māori rugby league. Moe mai rā e te rangatira.
