Got a weekend job you keep putting off? Our 1.9T Sany digger and tipper are both available, so grab them while you can.

Dry hire (you drive)
• 1.9T Sany digger: $162.50 half day or $250 full day + GST
• 3T tipper: $162.50 half day or $250 full day + GST

🚚 FREE digger delivery anywhere from Whenuakite to Pauanui this weekend!

Wet hire (we do it for you)
• Digger and 4.5T tipper with operators: $240/hr + GST, with no minimum hours

We'll also take away old concrete for $50/m³ + GST plus cartage, as well as tree roots, green waste and clean fill.

Pickup is from our Hikuai yard, or we'll deliver the digger free between Whenuakite and Pauanui. We cover Tairua, Pauanui, Whangamatā and Hikuai.

Leave the hard yakka to us. Our 1.9T Sany digger and 4.5T tipper come with an operator on each, so you get the cut, the cart and the metal sorted in one visit:

Our Stihl BT 130 is a one-person post hole borer with 200mm and 250mm bits. At 9.9kg it's manageable for one person, and it gets through a fence line far faster than a spade.

Got a slope you want to make usable before summer? 🧱

Timber retaining walls from $690 per metre + GST (under 500mm), or $880 per metre + GST up to 1m tall. ALL INCLUSIVE. No surprise extras.

That price includes:
✅ Our own digger to drill the post holes and dig out behind the wall
✅ Our tipper to cart the spoil away
✅ H5 posts and timber
✅ Concrete for every post
✅ Free-draining drainage aggregate behind the wall
✅ Drain coil at the base, led somewhere sensible
✅ Filter cloth to stop soil clogging the drainage
✅ Backfill and a tidy finish

One price per metre and everything's in it. No add-ons for drainage, no extra charge to get rid of the dirt.

Why the drainage matters: water is the number one reason retaining walls fail. When it builds up behind a wall (and the Coromandel gets some heavy rain) it pushes hard, and that's when walls lean, bulge or crack. We build every wall to drain properly from day one.

Consent: walls up to 1.5m are generally exempt from building consent, as long as there's no extra load above them like a driveway, parked cars or a building. Anything over 1m will need a barrier to prevent a fall. If in doubt, we'll talk you through it.

Price is for walls on good ground with reasonable access and includes 0.35 digger hours per metre (under 500mm) or 0.45 hours per metre (up to 1m); any extra digger time is $130/hr + GST. Taller walls and handrails priced on request.

Deck season is here in Tairua and Pauanui ☀️ Kwila or pine? It's the question we get asked most, so here's the honest version, plus where prices start.

🌳 KWILA (hardwood) from $550/m² + GST
• Dense, hard-wearing and naturally durable
• Rich red-brown colour that silvers off if left un-oiled
• Lasts for decades with a regular oil
• Prefer something different? We also build in vitex, purpleheart and other hardwoods
🌲 PINE (treated, H3.2 for decking) from $400/m² + GST
• Budget-friendly and takes stain well, so you can choose your colour
• Needs more regular maintenance to look its best
• NZ-grown and easy to extend later

✨ Want low maintenance? We also build composite decks, which never need oiling or staining.

What moves the price up or down:
• Height off the ground and how many piles are needed
• Site access and slope
• Steps, balustrades and built-in seating
• Removing an old deck first
• Coastal spec: salt air, sand and strong sun are hard on any deck, and stainless steel fixings are essential near the sea

Consent check: we recommend checking consent for any deck more than 1m off the ground. The Building Act exemption goes up to 1.5m, but conditions apply, so it pays to check first.
