Not every bathroom needs a full renovation.

For this project, the priority was fixing the problem properly following a shower leak, while keeping as much of the existing space as possible.

We replaced the shower with an Atlantis Fortiva Claro, including a single sliding door and recessed liner niche, and installed a Foreno North single shower rail and matching mixer in chrome. The existing timber floor was replaced where necessary, sanded and refinished, bringing it back to life without changing the whole room.

Thanks to the teams at Whangarei ITM and Tile Depot Whangarei for the supplies, and always great working alongside Got Gas & Plumbing and Precise Painting and Decorating Northland LTD

Thanks for the 5 star review Steve! We really appreciate it.
“Daniel and his team were awesome, turned up when they said they would and were great to deal with. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks again.”

It’s National Dog Day, and we never miss an opportunity to celebrate our furry friends! 🐾

We often joke that we only work with people who have great dogs and so far, it seems to be true!

Here are a few of the friendly floofs belonging to some of our recent clients, who made working in their homes that little bit more special.

And, of course, a special mention must go to our own CoPR (Chief of Puku Rubs) Miss Maya. Forever the supervisor, she makes sure everyone is safely dressed in their hi-vis and leads John’s welcoming committee each morning.

Maya is currently enjoying a well-earned break from the tools, where she has taken up chasing seagulls and jumping over every single wave!

If your four-legged project manager has decided it’s finally time to renovate, get in touch, we’re always happy to meet them for a site visit.

Running a small business is a seven-day-a-week job with many late nights in the office and after six years without a proper holiday, we’re finally taking one!

We know how fortunate we are to be busy, especially after a tough few years for the building industry. We’re incredibly grateful to our clients and community for continuing to put their trust in us.

We’ll be switching off and will be back on the tools Monday 31 August.

A bit of everything on the tools over the past couple of weeks!

In Maungatāpere, working on a shower upgrade following a leak. Here's John, getting everything prepped and ready for the new shower.

Over in Titoki, we’ve been back working with repeat clients on their farm, giving an old shed a much-needed re-clad. It’s already done around 60 years of service, and should now be good for plenty more.

While we were there, we also re-lined a lounge wall in one of the farm cottages following a chimney leak, and replaced a water-damaged vanity in the main house.

Not every job needs to be a big renovation. Sometimes it’s about repairing what’s there, doing it properly, and getting a few more decades out of it.

A busy couple of weeks working with some great local clients, with the occasional farmyard visitor checking on progress.

And a quick heads-up! Daniel and I are taking a much needed break next week.
The toolbelt and laptop are staying at home! If you need to get in touch while we’re away, please send us an email or Facebook message and we’ll get back to you when we return.

We’ll be back on the tools from Monday 31 August.

A little behind-the-scenes look at the people helping keep Northland’s tradies organised! 😉

Tracey from Mr Electri City and I were out doing an early morning site visit together, because we all know there’s often a Tradie Wife somewhere behind the scenes keeping the wheels of the business turning!

Always good working alongside other great local businesses run by Husband and Wife teams.

Apprentice Appreciation Post!

A little appreciation for all the apprentices out there doing the hard, dirty mahi — crawling under houses, squeezing into tight spaces and getting stuck into the jobs nobody’s lining up for!

And a special shout-out to our Super John, who tackles it all with a smile and, something we’re particularly proud of, always wears his safety gear without ever needing to be asked or reminded.

Keep up the good mahi, John. We appreciate you!

A great way to start the morning.

I was delighted to be invited to the Tile Depot Designer Presentation in Whangārei today, where designers and industry professionals got an exclusive first look at new tile ranges, products and emerging technologies.

It was a fantastic opportunity to see what's coming to the New Zealand market, learn about the innovation behind the products, and contribute feedback on what we believe homeowners and renovators are really looking for.

We're always looking for ways to bring fresh ideas and quality products to our renovation projects, so it's great to stay connected with suppliers who are continually investing in new design and technology.

A big thank you to the Tile Depot team for the invitation and a well-presented morning.

Receiving reviews like this never gets old.

Helen & Nick recently trusted us to complete a full renovation of two bathrooms in their Maungatāpere home. From coordinating all the trades through to final completion, it was a privilege to help bring the project together.

Thank you, Helen & Nick, for your kind words and for trusting us with your home. Reviews like these mean a great deal to our small family business.

If you're planning a bathroom or home renovation in Whangārei or Kaipara, we'd love to have a chat about your project.
