Twin Garage Project - Mount Victoria

If garages can be described as beautiful, this is certainly one of them.

What started as a simple concrete path cut into the hillside has been transformed into secure access to the home, two purpose-built garages, and finished patio spaces above. Quite the transformation!

What a relief to have a roof on in winter! 🏠
It’s a significant milestone on a new build, protecting the frames and crew from the weather.

The crew hit the ground running on the John Street Development — slabs down to roofs up in just four weeks. An impressive turnaround, and a real testament to the crew’s perseverance, teamwork and productivity.

Looking forward to getting stuck into the next stage, with a little less Wellington weather to contend with.

We're into the final stages at the MLD Akatarawa Development, and this week marked a big milestone with the last of the scaffolding coming down.

This has been a substantial project for our team — 12 townhouses across two stages — and seeing the buildings fully revealed is a pretty rewarding moment.

One of the things that has made this project so enjoyable has been working alongside the MLD team every step of the way. From the initial dig-out through to the finishing touches, they've been on the ground with us throughout the build. That kind of collaborative approach is what good projects are made of, with everyone equally invested in achieving a great outcome.

The location hasn't been bad either. Sitting directly across from Harcourt Park it's been a pretty spot to call home while we've been onsite.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT 🔎
It’s not every day you get the chance to be involved in a project that's focused on making healthy, energy-efficient homes more accessible for everyday families. So when TOA Homes asked Ryan to help out with their R&D efforts, he was keen to jump on board.

Working alongside Zak Read from BayBuilt and the TOA Homes team, Ryan helped bring their innovative panel system to life. The idea is simple but clever – a flexible panel system that can be connected in a range of configurations to create high-performing homes.

A big part of Ryan and Zak’s involvement was designing and building the jig used to manufacture the panels, while working closely with the design team to test, refine, and improve the system along the way.
Seeing the first panels come together and eventually become the beautiful TOA Homes show home, now perched on a hilltop site in Pāuatahanui, was pretty special.

Ryan loved the challenge of being involved in something a little different and enjoyed working alongside a great team to help turn the concept into reality. We're looking forward to watching TOA Homes grow and seeing more of these homes pop up around the country.

If you know our team, then you know this post will make them a little uncomfortable. They’re not the crew to partake in Tik-Tok dances, or trending videos, so you won’t see any of that from us. They get on with things quietly and consistently making it happen day in and day out.

From the early starts and challenging weather to problem-solving on site and sweating the small details, our crew consistently shows up and gives it their all. The quality of our work is a direct reflection of their skill and pride they take in what they do.

What we appreciate most is how much they genuinely care — about the end result, the homeowners and clients we work with, and each other. They're a great bunch of people, and we're incredibly lucky to have them on the team.

We're proud of the homes we build, but even prouder of the crew who make it happen.

NEW BUILD – Whitemans Valley

Completed in 2023, our Whitemans Valley project showcases how an amazing location, thoughtful site positioning, and a simple yet well-executed design can come together to create something truly special. Pair that with a fantastic client, and it's easy to see why this has become one of our favourite builds.

The combination of dark Linea weatherboards and shiplap macrocarpa cladding creates a sleek, contemporary exterior. Large windows capture the valley views, while expansive bi-parting stacker doors open seamlessly onto the Kwila deck that spans the length of the home.

We're incredibly proud to have been part of the team that brought this home to life and delivered a quality result for the homeowner.
