โWhy is it so hard to make our cities beautiful?
Urban planners, architects, engineers, interior designers, artists and even teachers, lawyers, doctors, business owners, riders, workers, and everyday citizens, all share one dream: to live in cleaner, safer, and more inspiring spaces.
But in the Philippines, this dream is too often buried. Those who should lead are deaf and blind. Budgets are drained by corruption. Projects are built for votes instead of vision. Long-term plans vanish with every election cycle.
We donโt need luxury cars, massive properties, or extravagant buildings for portfolios. What truly matters is what we accomplish and how we tackle problems. What's the use of luxury if projects canโt be finished with honesty and integrity?
Design and community are treated as costs instead of investments. Rules are bent. Shortcuts are taken. Heritage is erased.
Yet, despite the broken system, professionals and citizens keep pushing forward, planting trees, building honest homes, restoring heritage, standing up for fair planning, and proving that every small act of integrity still matters.
The struggle to beautify is real. But the dream of a fairer, greener, and truly beautiful Philippines? It belongs to all of us.
So in times like this, will we remain deaf? Will we laugh corruption away? Or will we finally hold accountable those who keep stealing our future?โ
