When people think about the legacy they want to leave behind, achievements often come to mind. For its Golden Anniversary, LBRDC chose to be remembered in a different way, by becoming part of the journey of children whose everyday lives revolve around hospital visits, medicines, and treatments. Through its support, LBRDC hoped to bring a little relief and a little hope to families facing difficult days.
As LBP Resources and Development Corporation (LBRDC) celebrated its Golden Anniversary, it chose to mark this milestone not only by looking back on five decades of accomplishments but also by reaching out to those who need support the most. Instead of making the occasion solely about celebration, LBRDC turned it into an opportunity to give hope to children facing some of life's toughest challenges by partnering with the LBP Golf Club Inc. in organizing a Charity Golf Tournament in celebration of LBRDCโs 50th Anniversary led by its President AVP Manuel Ray Almario.
The proceeds from the Golf Tournament held in May 2025 at the Club Intramuros Golf Course, amounting to PhP399,584.00, were donated to the Little Ark Foundation. Subsequently, on July 24, 2026, representatives of the Little Ark Foundation (LAF) presented a Certificate of Donation to LBRDC in recognition of its PhP100,000.00 contribution during a simple turnover ceremony in Quezon City.
Leading the delegation from the foundation were its President and Founder, Mr. Sonny "Butch" Bustamante, together with representatives from the National Children's Hospital (NCH), Dr. Philip A. Morales, MD, MA, FPPS, and Ms. Rosemarie J. Catap, RSW, MSW.
More than a charitable organization, the Little Ark Foundation serves as a community of care for children facing cancer, thalassemia, and other critical illnesses at the National Children's Hospital. Founded in 2021 by Sonny Bustamante, the foundation was born from his family's own experience navigating a child's serious illness and recovery. Beyond financial assistance, Little Ark provides holistic support that addresses the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families. Through its network of caregivers, volunteers, and partners, the foundation works to ensure that no child and no family has to face the challenges of serious illness alone.
Guided by its mission of love, advocacy, and fellowship, Little Ark helps connect families with resources and support systems that enable children to continue their treatment and improve their chances of recovery. The foundation believes that every child, regardless of social or economic status, deserves access to care, compassion, and hope throughout their journey.
Through this initiative, LBRDC hopes to help ease the burdens faced by children with critical illnesses and their families while reminding them that they do not face their journey alone.
Through the Little Ark Foundation, the donation will directly benefit young patients at the National Children's Hospital by helping address essential needs that are not covered by the government's zero-billing policy, including temporary shelter for families awaiting treatment schedules, nutritious meals, hospital-based feeding programs for young patients, transportation assistance, and laboratories and medicines not otherwise covered by the government. For many families struggling with the financial, physical, and emotional challenges of caring for a sick child, this support provides not only practical relief but also renewed hope and reassurance during a difficult time.
Present during the turnover ceremony were LBRDC Chairperson LT GEN Antonio Ramon A. Lim, PAF (Ret.); President and CEO COL Ricardo C. Juliano, CPA, PA (MNSA) (Res.); Directors Paolo Miguel Teodoro, Jose Enrique Marfori Jr., and Abner Malabanan, along with officers and employees of the Corporation.
